Interaction with guests
Interaction can be as little or as much as you would like!
Poohaili Street is a quiet residential street in Laie on the Oahu's Famous North Shore. Go right and just down the street is Hukilau Beach. Walk left toward the mountains and you can hike to Laie Falls.
It's best to rent a car, but there is a bus stop just down the street on Kamehameha Hwy.
Other things to note
This apartment is on the side of our house. It has it's own outside entrance and a locked, double door totally separates it from the rest of the house.
Laie Park is on the side of this house and in the evenings, after school, sports teams practice in the park. They finish practice around 6:30 or 7 pm.
With the A/C on and the windows closed you won't even know they are there. Tall trees also block the noise. We do have a Pack n' Play that would work great for infants and toddlers.
We live in this house and do have jobs and our kids have school. So please keep it down after 10 pm.

Aloha, we have lived in Laie for 30 years and we blessed to be able to build this house 3 years ago. It's been great for our 6 kids. Now the kids are getting older and we have some extra room.
Martha purchased this Apartment in 2010
Why Martha chose Laie
3 kids in college, so we decided to rent out this downstairs bedroom.

Wonderful place to stay
Lovely apartment. Very clean and quite spacious. Martha was quick to respond when electric had tripped out. Fabulous location beach so close and a lovely beach. You could easily walk to shopping Centre and restaurants and that’s from me who doesn’t like long walks. We will definitely stay again if we return to Hawaii. Aloha from the UK
Fantastic Cozy Comfy Place!
Bed was unbelievably soft and apartment is well kept. Most wonderful host, who assisted with every need!
It was just perfect for our stay in Hawaii and close to everything we wanted to do!
Wonderful homelike stay close to the PCC
We had a wonderful stay in this cute homelike apartment close to the Polynesian Cultural Center. The bed was comfortable, the kitchenette convienent, and the on-sight parking wonderful. We will definately stay here again. Our only suggestion would be extra pillows and blankets.
Nice, simple, affordable, clean. Friendly owners.
Its was a great place to stay. Very close to BYU and the Temple.
Very basic, lack of warm welcome
We needed an overnight stay . Although the place is small, it is clean and compact and suffice basics for a couple. We arrive, knocked and a gentleman told us to go to the side of the house as he really had nothing to do with the rental. Said his wife was out and he expected her back soon. It was the 3pm. The drive pad had lots of other cars. So parking isn’t convenient. You’d think they’d allow a space for the guest? The place ( the home itself) appears to be very busy and noisy, some of which was expected as it was New Year’s Eve. From the rental room you can hear lots of neighbors and lots of people traffic from the upper floor. The owner (Martha) never did come welcome or meet us. We left the next day. Saw a lady working in the garden she never greeted or acknowledged us, don’t know if it was Martha. Left with a very unfriendly, unwelcoming feeling.
Sorry that you felt this way. I'm really disappointed that you didn't contact me or message me or call me. Instead you decide to leave a really bad review.
Please remember when you booked your room that you paid less than a hundred a night. Rooms in our area are three times that much. Also, yes, I was out when you arrived, but as per the instructions given to you, you were to go in and make yourselves at home. I really don't think my husband was rude, and he is a very kind person. He just told you I was out, not sure why that was a problem.
I also told you before you booked that it was New Years Eve and there would be a lot of fireworks and parties. We had a party ourselves. I explained this to you when you booked. This is what they do in Hawaii and you never mentioned that it would be a problem.
I didn't ever meet you, because I never saw you. I didn't see you, when you saw me gardening, I would've said hello, but I didn't see you. I'm sorry, that you felt unwelcomed. I did not want to knock on the door to bother you. Most guests don't want to be bothered or awakened. I'm sad you didn't say hello to me either.
