About Nicola Bruce
A Scot who loves the East Neuk of Fife. As a professional, I ensure Elmbank is maintained to the highest standard. As a mother of 4, I ensure the house is a warm and comfortable home from home for families of all ages. And as a golfer, I can offer advice to visitors on which of Fife's wonderful golf courses to visit, with tips on securing tee times.
Nicola Bruce purchased this House in 2011
Why Nicola Bruce chose Elie
What we most love about Elmbank, is the view out across the golf course. Or perhaps the 100 metre stroll to Elie's landmark beach. Or maybe sleeping soundly in a luxury four poster bed. Or even sipping fine wine in the sitting room by the log burning stove.
What makes this House unique
Elmbank is a very special house. Welcoming, comfortable, spacious: a real home from home with some extra special touches such as the two master bedrooms with their mahogany four posters. What we most love about Elmbank, is the view out across the golf course towards the cliffs and sea beyond. And remember to ask us about local golf courses: take advantage of several generations' of local knowledge!

Excellent house, host, and vacation
What an amazing house and incredible village. The house is absolutely perfect for families, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you may need, and the host responds immediately. This place beat our expectations. I hope you book this home l, and enjoy it as much as we did.
Spacious and comfortable house in a lovely setting
The house is very well appointed with large bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, and modern bathrooms. The beach is a 3 minute walk and the garden opens right onto the golf course. Lots to discover and explore within short drives from Elie. Beautiful spot for a holiday!
Spacious, charming, and an amazing location.
Wonderful week in Elie and the East Neuk of Fife. Elmbank House was the perfect base for our family holiday. The house has a lot of charm and character. Lovely rooms, a warm cozy kitchen, and an ideal garden and patio. A myriad of things to do in the area for all of us, golf, beach walks, and water sports at the harbour. St Andrews and Anstruther a few miles away. What a brilliant week!
Wonderful, peaceful and beautiful
We spent our New Year in this lovely property which has been beautifully decorated. We loved the welcoming Arga in the warm and cosy but spacious and well equipped kitchen, the beautiful staircase with original handrails and our opulent four poster bed with beautiful views across the golf course. The property was clean, well equipped with good facilities including a den for children to hang out in. Overall this is a very relaxing and welcoming house with beautiful surroundings in a lovely and friendly village. We will definitely come again and would be happy to recommend to friends or relatives
What a fabulous house for our family gathering!
We loved this house and the village of Elie. Perfect for our family gathering to celebrate parents 60th anniversary. There was plenty of space, with nice rooms and views out over the golf course. A nice mix of period features, aga range at the heart keeping us warm and cosy, and modern comforts. We enjoyed golf on the 9 hole course, only a short walk out through the back gate and along the edge of the fairway to the 1st tee. Even had nice Sunday roast at the Pavilion club house. We played Table tennis in the large games room out in the garden. There was even a bathroom with electric shower out here. The beds were extremely comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Parking immediately in front of the house with plenty of space for our 4 cars.
May be worth noting that only 1 room had ensuite and the bathroom on the ground floor was the other side of the kitchen from the bedroom. The bathroom on top floor in coombed ceiling space was very challenging to use due to restricted head height, maybe best for children only! So guests in the upstairs rooms really needed to use the large first floor bathroom. We'd thoroughly recommend this house as it was perfect for our needs, great location, great icecream shop, great wee cafe on main street, slightly disappointed with the Ship Inn, pub grub at restaurant prices. All in all a fabulous place to visit, Elbank and Elie were a treat.
Excellent Elmbank in Elie
I booked Elmbank for a special birthday celebration. 10 adults and two children. The description, layout and facilities were all accurately described. The property was very clean, the beds very comfortable with good quality linen, bathrooms/showers clean and well maintained with good quality towels. Kitchen was very well equipped. It has an aga which takes a bit of getting used to but lends itself to a more relaxed style of cooking which was lovely. We had our evening meals in at the big dining table which seated all 12 of us comfortably. In fact we spent most of our time in the kitchen/dining area as it's such a great family space. The other good thing about this house it has a little snug just off the kitchen/dining room and a little extra sitting room with TV off the main sitting room which doesn't have a TV and which is perfect for just sitting together without the distraction of a TV. The little snug and the TV room also provide a little bit of escape for any of the guests who want a wee quiet space in peace. There is also a lovely conservatory and an outside wooden space which has a full size table tennis table, a good sized TV and is complete with a toilet and shower. Again this provides space for a bit time out. When you have 10 adults all in the one space it was fantastic to have all these spaces additional to the main living space, to allow time on your own if you wanted. It has a good sized garden which is safe for the children to play in without having to keep a watch on them all the time. Elie itself is a very friendly beautiful place. The beach is exceptional, there are lovely walks and a very nice pub. All in all this is a fantastic house in a brilliant location. The only reason I have given it 4 stars and not 5 is the cost. It is quite expensive but it is a very large property with high quality facilities and I would still recommend it to family and friends.
Elie is one of Scotland's best kept secrets: the perfect holiday location for families, friends and golfers. Long sandy beaches, beautiful links golf courses, tennis, water sports, cliff walks, great pubs and close to St Andrews, the home of golf.
Come with your friends and enjoy great golf, walks, amazing scenery and fun nights out. Take a trip to the ancient city of St Andrews and enjoy local castles and quaint Scottish fishing villages in which time has stood still.
Come with your kids and let them make friends at tennis, golf, putting, water sports and on the beach. You may not see much of them.....
Come for the golf: the links courses of Elie, Crail and St Andrews are world famous, and after a busy day of golf, you can lie in one of our four poster beds and look out across the fairway.....
