About Chris Gilbert
I rented a property in Nice for 2 years to take time to buy the best property. There is nowhere in Nice as discreet, green and calm that is close to beach and centre, and has such easy access. I bought it in 2009 and haven't yet seen anywhere better! This is my home, to retire to after working in NHS in London
Chris Gilbert purchased this Apartment in 2009
Why Chris Gilbert chose Les Baumettes
It's my home, I love it. Peaceful, discreet apartment in quiet residential area and close to all amenities. 500m from prom,There's a small bus stop adjacent.
What makes this Apartment unique
THis is a classic French apartment, in the only green and quiet residential area close to the prom, old town and city centre. It is well lit, safe. It overlooks palm trees, oranges and bougainvillia.
100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
Lovely apartment in a quiet residential area.
The apartment is lovely. It was especially nice to have the balconies. The bus stop is right across the street for easy trips anywhere. The Beaux Arts Museum next door is definitely worth a visit. Having 2 bathrooms was wonderful and the air conditioning worked very well.
I'm pleased you enjoyed your visit, and enjoyed my home as much as I do. There's so much to see and do, come again!! All the best, Chris
Home away from home
What a delightful stay in Nice. This apartment is SO LARGE and comfortable and clean! It was on a quiet street and was a 10 minute walk from the beach. We were able to walk to Old City several times and find a variety of places to eat. We rented a car for two days and drove to Eze (20 minutes away), Monaco (45 minutes away), Gordes (2.5 hours away), and Sault (45 minutes from Gordes). Eating breakfast every morning on the balcony was a special treat. We really loved being here and felt so much at home. My one issue is we were only given three rolls of toilet paper (one per guest) for the week so we had to purchase more. This NYC Family can eat and definitely need more squares than that.
Thank you, I'm pleased you enjoy your stay. We usually provide 3 rolls of toilet paper per WC, 9 in all, and will make certain to do so in future. Kind regards, Chris
The apartment was exactly like we saw in the pictures. It was absolutely perfect! We had everything we needed and the location was key. We slept so well in the most comfortable bed! Thank you again Chris for an absolutely lovely stay! We would absolutely stay there again!
You're very welcome! it was an absolute pleasure to have you stay. So easy to work with, the perfect guests. All the best, Chris
Great appartment very cosy and welcoming.
A lovely appartment in a nice residential area close to bus stops, shops and a quick walk to the promenade
Thank you. You certainly made the best of your time here. Do come again. Best wishes, Chris
A touch of class in a lovely residential area of Nice.
Enjoyed our stay in a comfortable clean apartment. Really enjoyed breakfast on the balcony. It is very close to the sea and it is a twenty minute walk to the old town along the beautiful promenade des anglais although when the new tram line opens before too long this journey will be within minutes. There are plenty of amenities close by and we will definitely be returning.
Thank you. You are very kind. I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay. You are very welcome anytime. Best wishes. Chris
Enjoy the space and access to Nice
This is a great apartment for a stay in Nice. Within 30 minutes walking to most places in Nices yet in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The building and apartment are very French. The apartment is large with lots of space, we had 4 adults and did not feel in each other's way at all. Make full use of the balconies, especially in the evenings.
The apartment was nicely presented and we were welcomed by the local manager with some treats. When we come back to Nice we know where we will be staying....
First floor totally refurbished A/C apartment in quiet residential area close to promenade des Anglais, Negresco Hotel and city centre. In 1878 the villa Kotschoubey was built as a summer palace for a Ukrainian princess on Baumettes (Villa is now the Musée des Beaux Arts , "Jules Cheret") and in 1950 the classic French Résidence des Baumettes was built in the palace gardens.
Baumettes is the best location in Nice. Baumettes is the only quiet green residential area in Nice close to the prom and city centre. It's well lit and safe, with excellent local shops and facilities, yet has retained its charm, with villas, castles , bijou hotels, and stately buildings.
The generous living room has a sheltered south balcony overlooking gardens with sculptures and citrus, magnolia and mimosa trees. Sunlight pours in from 2 balconies and you can relax on the huge sofa, chairs, TV with Satellite and wi-fi. The dining area is at the far end and has a balcony overlooking date palms. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need from a coffee machine, dishwasher, cooking utilities, pots and pans, spices and oils, a big fridge, dishes and cutlery; so you really can make yourself at home.
The master bedroom has a super king-size bed, a balcony which is bathed in the morning sun for breakfast, and an en-suite bathroom with shower and WC. The second bedroom is spacious, equipped with two single beds, and en-suite shower and WC. There’s a third extra WC.
Best and last, you’ll have to force yourself to leave the apartment once you have sat in the shade on the lounge balcony. It’s secluded and is perfect for dining, enjoy a cool drink and getting into the Holiday spirit!
We always walk along the prom to the harbour, old town/ and city centre, but there's a bus “ Résidence des Baumettes” which stops right outside and goes to the city centre.
There a video from 5 years ago on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awWF2vsr-64 It’s rather long, and the interior decor is better nowadays, but otherwise is accurate.
