If you are planning to spend time in the amazing Rocky Mountains, our home is the best of all worlds. The gorgeous views, comfortable amenities and quiet location near town provide everything you need to relax after a long day hiking, cross-country skiing, fishing, climbing, sightseeing or wildlife-viewing. We are just a 20 minute walk to Mary’s Lake Lodge for great entertainment and dining. The property is surrounded by beautiful snow-capped peaks and plenty of blue skies and bright stars. You can sit outside on the expansive deck and enjoy watching wildlife passing by or shooting stars in the cool summer evenings.
Our home is complete with lovely furnishings, comfortable pillow-topped king beds in two of the bedrooms and set of twins in the third bedroom. From the bedroom windows you can often see deer and elk coming down from the Roosevelt forest as you wake in the morning. Since our dining room and den is completely surrounded by picture windows, dinners are complemented with sunset views of Lumpy Ridge, the snow-capped Mummy Range and the beautiful Estes Valley, as well as frequent visits from hummingbirds, blue birds, elk, deer, rabbits and occasional bear, coyote or mountain lion (very rare).
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare even the most complex meal. You will also find a propane grill just out the back door for a warm summer barbeque along with a huge deck; perfect for an outdoor picnic.

About Karen Hare
We love the beautiful Rocky Mountains anytime of year. Bob loves to fly fish. We both love hiking, cross-country skiing and just enjoying sitting by an alpine lake reading a book. When the opportunity came for us to purchase our own piece of paradise, we couldn't resist. We loved every moment we spent renovating this lovely cabin that was originally located in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Karen Hare purchased this Cabin in 2006
Why Karen Hare chose Estes Park
When we found this cabin, we knew it would be the perfect home for us. It needed a bit of work, but the mountain views from the picture windows and deck sold us on the home. The quiet location in a private treed neighborhood sealed the deal. Being close to the activities of Estes Park without any of the hustle and bustle was exactly what we were looking for. Wildlife roam through the property regularly and often decide to stay for a while. The cabin itself is spacious and with the hardwood floors and beautiful warm decor, we can't imagine we could have found a more perfect home for us to enjoy and share with our guests.
What makes this Cabin unique
We love waking to deer, elk, wild turkeys, and/or hummingbirds outside our bedroom window, then sitting out on the deck for breakfast breathing in the fresh mountain air. Typically, we head out for a hike to an alpine lake early so we can get back to enjoy a relaxed BBQ on the deck. Later we might spend the evening watching for shooting stars while we build a small campfire in the fire pit and maybe roast a few marshmallows. It is our place to relax and get away to the quite solitude that nature has to offer, yet still have all the comforts of home.

Beautiful home with beautiful views!
This home was perfect for us. We loved the room with all the windows and spent most of our time in it, especially the day it snowed. The home was very clean and comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need. We saw deer and elk in the yard. Love the seclusion of the home. Very convenient location with easy access to Rocky Mountain National Park. We got to enjoy a day being snowed in however the next day the driveway was cleared so we could get out and about again. Plenty of space to spread out!
We spent six nights in this cozy cabin. It snowed the first night and day. It felt like we were in a snow globe. We loved the sun room with the electric fireplace stove. We ate breakfast and several dinners there. Our friends joined us a few days. The four of us had plenty of room to spread out but spent most of our time looking out the window at the wonderful view and watching for wildlife. We saw turkey and deer. Karen was easy to work with. We loved the easy drive to the park and downtown Estes Park. We saw lots of elk and heard them bugle and watched the bulls fight. The golf course was a great place to see them. The whole area is so beautiful. We hope to return to this cabin.
Great hiking retreat
This cabin was the perfect retreat after a day of hiking. With beautiful mountain views and a variety of wildlife (turkeys, mule deer, elk) it was a great place to come home to. The kitchen was stocked well, all the essentials were provided, and there is even a good selection of movies & books you can choose from for your evening relaxation (our 2 year old was a big fan of Happy Feet!).
Our family enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back if we visit RMNP again!
Beautiful and peaceful
What a wonderful place to relax and have some quality family time! Our family, with kids ranging 13-2, fit perfectly. The house has almost everything you need. We felt very cared for.
Lovely cabin - perfect location!
This cabin is in a perfect location - minutes from RMNP in one direction and Estes Park in the other. The cabin has all the necessities as well as amenities desired. The beds are SO comfortable - best night's sleep away from home ever! We saw mule deer and turkeys every day and the views are excellent. You will not be disappointed!
Very clean, inviting and comfortable.
Convenient to downtown shops and Estes Park entrance yet private and out of the tourist traffic. Loved that Karen called us when we made the reservation. Great personal touch which made us feel welcomed before we ever got there.
Some of the best hiking and rock climbing in the country. Our home is just a five minute walk to Mary's Lake for fishing or relaxing, just a short five minute drive (3 miles) to Rocky Mountain National Park. Festivals often include Longs Peek Scottish Highland Festival, Wool Market, Scandinavian Midsummer Festival, Yoga Conference, Rooftop Rodeo and Elk Fest.
