About the Property
Low rates for 2 - 4 persons. 3 bedrooms, tavernas bar 100m. Baby pool
Experience a different world of quiet Cypriot village life in comfort at Villa Nicolas, with its heatable private pool set within a sunny enclosed walled garden with the scent of lemon trees and jasmine. You can enjoy the adjustable curtained poolside pergola for both shade and privacy, and it is a practical spot for anyone who has had enough sun, wants a quiet read, or for romantic evening drinks.
The scented garden transforms at night time, the plants and trees are illuminated by up lighters and you have hi fi speakers concealed in the garden walls, if you wish to hear your music in the garden. If you can drag yourselves away, local tavernas and bars are a short stroll.
Our interior photos show the beautiful restoration work to the thick stone walls which insulate the house in both summer and winter, and all the beams are original, as is the fireplace, ancient gate and lock, front door, and so much more... all done by owner George who lived in this house as a child. The lounge and each bedroom has a TV. Wi-Fi Internet access is provided for you to keep in touch with the outside world.
Villa Nicolas is quietly situated in the village centre in a no through lane, hidden behind high stone walls, and gated for more privacy.
A short 100m stroll brings you to the heart of the village where you will find a museum, 3 coffee shops, 2 also offering sandwiches, hamburgers and drinks. One offers souvlaki kebab, another food to order, including meze cooked just for you. The coffee shops have added some mini-market items to their range which is handy, so you can get some basics in the village.
Just 600m away on edge of village with wonderful views is attractive stone built Paradisos Hotel which is a lovely spot for a drink at sunset, (see the Review from Clive Benfield) and they serve good food too.
Closest beaches are Latchi and Polis. Polis offers a wide variety of shops and restaurants and Latchi is famous for its fish taverns beside the Marina, boat hire and trips.
Downstairs: The villa is all on one level, 3 bedrooms, 2 double with French doors to poolside, (Master bedroom has TV and adjoining bathroom with jacuzzi, shower, w.c.), and a twin bedroom. 2nd bathroom with bath, shower and w.c. Fully equipped kitchen.
Comfortable and spacious air conditioned lounge with original stone fireplace, (starter logs supplied) and a wood burning stove. Open plan dining room for 8.
Outside: Private pool with steps access. Brick BBQ, working clay oven for Kleftiko Lamb and bread. Garden with scented plants which are illuminated at night. Concealed hi fi speakers. There are 7 steps from main gate and the villa is enclosed for privacy by a 9’ high stone wall with antique wooden gates. This is handy if you have young children as you can close the gate.

Hello Irene, Just thought I'd drop you a line to say how much we enjoyed our holiday at Villa Nicolas in Lysos. It hasn't changed one bit since we were last there and thats a good thing. The girls absolutely loved the pool. We had trouble getting them out, especially when it was really hot!! No complaints about the villa it was perfect. Just thought I'd let you know about some the restaurants we went to with the girls. The Mystery Tavern in Polis was nice as they had a play area and kept the girls amused. The food was reasonable and fairly priced. Takkas Taverna: The food was lovely and reasonably priced. The view out to sea was amazing and we could have sat there all night. The Faros restaurant in Latchi was a nice restaurant but we quickly learnt not to buy 2 childrens meals there as they were so big and just bought one for them to share. Their prawn salads are to die for!! The Moustakalis Taverna in Polis was really nice, again big portions and reasonably priced. However, our favourite by far was Chix Chou in Polis. Fantastic food. My 2 year old is a fussy eater but she ate all of their spaghetti bolognaise (not very Cypriot but at least she was eating). The waiters were really good with the girls, making a fuss of them and giving them free icecreams which they loved. Nothing was a problem for them. I really recommend this restaurant if you have children. There is also a park just round the corner from the restaurant so they could run all their energy off!! I would recommend Lysos to anyone!! Thanks for all your help and to all your colleagues in Lysos who popped in to make sure everything was running smoothly. Better start saving for next year! Kind regards, Claire McCubbin and family.

This villa is quietly situated in a no through lane, and is hidden behind high stone walls, and gated for more privacy. The house has been sensitively restored by the owner George, who has lived all his life in Lysos. Highly recommended to guests who want to relax and sample traditional village life in a restored house with many original features, whilst enjoying home from home comforts. Slightly off the beaten track, visitors are made very welcome in this hilltop village, with its views across the Akamas National Park, to the sea. A short 100m stroll brings you to the heart of the village where you will find 3 coffee shops, two also offering sandwiches, hamburgers and drinks. And the other one offers souvlaki kebab and other food to order. The coffee shops have added some minimarket items to their range which is handy, so you can get some basics in the village. Just 600m away on edge of village with wonderful views is attractive stone built Paradisos Hotel and they serve good food and it's a lovely spot for a drink at sunset.
The Polis area offers beautiful countryside and uncrowded beaches, including sandy Lara Bay, where the turtles nest, and Chrysochou Bay, which offers mile after mile of quiet beaches alongside citrus groves, with a dramatic backdrop of hills. The nearby Paphos Forest has spectacular scenery and we highly recommend a visit.
For families with children donkey rides are available in village.
