A beautiful relaxing Eastern Shore experience
We had a great time at the Edgars’ lovely home. It is on a private, expansive waterfront property where our kids and dog could roam free. We had lots of plans to do things in the area but we ended up spending most days at the house - swimming in the pool, kayaking in the Little Choptank, napping in the hammocks, watching the birds, and playing epic rounds of cornhole. We never even turned on a tv. The back of the house is all windows so the views are beautiful. Sunsets every night (but bring bug spray). The house is filled with interesting art, antiques, taxidermy, duck decoys and little touches that show how much Guy and Jennifer love it here and how well they care for the property. The house is immaculately clean, spacious and a wonderful gathering spot for family or large groups of friends. It has a great sound system and we played country music all week.We went out on a fishing trip one evening with Guy on his boat and caught a lot of Perch - which he filleted for us and we ate the next day. The kids loved that. The house is located in “The Necks” neighborhood, which is very scenic and rural. You have to drive through a depressed part of Cambridge to get to it, but it’s not that bad. Most of the area is rural and very scenic. Nearby towns of Easton, Oxford and St Michaels are a fun visit. In Cambridge, Emily’s Produce has great homemade food and produce and a sunflower maze, Blackwater Wildlife Refuge is lovely as well. Guy is very responsive and will answer any questions you may have. Will definitely return!
Something fun for everyone!
The home and resources were exactly what we saw on the web. Clean, spacious and owners helpful.

Felt like home!
Our family celebrated several occasions while at the Edgars retreat. Both Guy and Jennifer were very gracious hosts. Besides fishing and clamming, they recommended we stop at this seafood place and buy crab cakes and homemade ice cream. What they didn't mention was the Smith Island cakes that were also sold there. OMG, is all I can say. We all had a wonderful, relaxing stay.
Perfect Home for Ironman Trip!
Guy and Jennifer have the perfect home to relax and prep for the Ironman race! Located close enough to town and the race site, but still removed enough to be able to relax and enjoy some quiet time! The house had plenty of room for 6 adults to comfortably stay with privacy - large kitchen, huge TV, lots of central air, awesome yard and dock. Overall, we all had an amazing stay and felt comfortable and at home with Guy and Jennifer! They are gracious hosts that helped make our trip easy and fun!
Quiet and Peaceful Getaway
If you want a quiet and relaxing vacation, this is the place. The property is beautiful – the pictures do not do it justice – and sits right on the river. The back of the house is almost entirely windows so you constantly have a water view. The house itself is very well kept both inside and out. Part of the house is older and maintains the original beams and fireplaces adding a cozy historic element. The other part of the house has a bit more of a modern touch. Everything is very well appointed and decorated to give it that welcoming feel. The inside is spotlessly clean and has every amenity you can imagine from a fully stocked kitchen (condiments, spices, ice machine, and all the pots/pans, utensils, tableware, and cookware you need) to comfy beds and living spaces (plenty of space for larger families, large screen TVs and surround sound stereo.) Outside you have access to kayaks, a canoe, and paddle boat or can relax in anyone of the swinging chairs or on the deck where I spent most nights grilling. There’s a beautiful in-ground pool with lounge chairs for days when you want to cool off and just lounge by the pool. Being away from town allows you to enjoy the wildlife as well (turtles, deer, geese, herons, osprey, eagles and blue birds are just a few of the animals I was able to enjoy while there) as the property is surrounded by woods in the front. Guy and Jennifer are so sweet and genuinely nice people who really make your vacation that much more enjoyable. (They stay in the guest house on the property.) They are so welcoming and truly make you feel at home but also let you have your space and not overly intrusive. Shortly after I arrived, Guy stopped over with some crabs they had caught for me to try. Knowing I had never been crabbing and they also took me out on their boat so I could experience it first-hand. You are truly away from everything with Cambridge about 20 mins away so I would recommend stopping at the Super Walmart or grocery store to stock up on food there since there are not stores or restaurants once you had out to the house from Cambridge. There is one local place – Soft and Salty about 20 mins up the road from the house. The owner makes everything including delicious homemade ice cream. If you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy a quiet and relaxing trip, I highly recommend staying here. You will have a great time and will not be disappointed.
