About the Property
3 Bedrooms In newly renovated old school. Very close to beach and 2 golf courses
Our 19th century school is newly beautifully renovated, and it has a magnificent sea view.
The house is situated on a hill and it overlooks Stenshuvud and the beautiful Hanö-bay. It was built in 1879 and was the Village School until the end of the 50's.
During 2011-2012 we have done a major renovation, so that now the house is as good as new with two separate appartments of which one is possible to rent. Our main concern has been to preserve the original character as far as possible.
Vik is the oldest fishing village along the Österlen coast and most of its 19th century houses are very well preserved. It's a peaceful and tranquil little village, and the surrounding nature with green hills and long sandy shores is a striking beauty. In the former school section of the house, there is now a modern apartment divided into two floors, forming a total of about 100 square meters. There are three bedrooms and 6 beds. This house is also very cosy autum and winter.
The bottom floor has an open floor plan. It is 70 square meters and has five large windows. The view towards the little port and the sea is very beautiful. There is a pleasant dining area and a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge and a freezer, stove and a dishwasher. there is also a seating area with a sofa and a couple of chairs. High speed Wireless internet via fiber.
The upper landing has a TV and a sofa. There is a bathroom with a shower and toilet. There are three bedrooms, each with it's own color scheme, with five beds plus one extra mattress. The yellow room is the master bedroom with two beds, each 90x200cm.
The dark blue room is a slightly smaller bedroom with a bay window facing the sea and a bunked for two persons.
The grey-blue room is also a smaller bedroom with a window facing the sea. It has one 120x200 cm bed and another 200x80.
In the basement, which you enter through the garden , there is a washing machine and a dryer.
There is a small garden of about 200 square meters facing the port. Here you will find an outdoor dining area and a grill.

Surroundings & Activities
In the port area, 100 meters from the house, there is a small beach and a pier from which you can go swimming and where babys can be on the sandy beach. You can also walk 10-15 minutes to bigger and more secluded sand-beaches.
If you want to play golf there are 2 18-hole golf courses within walking distance: Lilla Vik and Djupadal.
You can take a walk or go jogging along the stunning coastline between Vik and Baskemölla.
You will find grocery stores within 10 km distance, in Simrishamn or Kivik. You can go there by car, bus or bike on a separate biking lane.
There are many good restaurants and cafés nearby.
During the summer season there are lots of cultural activities all over the Österlen area

About the owner: We are family living in Stockholm and have rented a vacation home in this village for more than 15 years. Finally we bought an own house which now can be rented.
Why the Owner Chose Simrishamn N, Sweden:
4 years ago we got the opportunity to by the old school in Vik, built 1879, which we now have totally renovated. Vik is a very picturesque village by the sea, with beautiful sea view from the house and we have since many years ago fallen in love with this area. We will spend more and more vacation time here since many of our close friends and relatives also have houses in the area.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Stunning view over the sea, 150 meters to the shore and nice sand beaches within 5 minutes walking. Painters have had this as a favorite place due to the special light and nature. There is a rich supply of culture activities in the surroundings and we have found many nice cafés’ and restaurants. If you are a golfer there are two golf courses within walking distance.
