Our house is very conveniently located to UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, Research Triangle Park (RTP), RDU airport, and downtown Chapel Hill and Durham.
We are a 3 minute drive from interstate 40 and the Timberlyne and Chapel Hill North shopping centers, cinema, and plentiful restaurants and grocery stores. We are also only 3 miles from downtown and Franklin Street, and walking distance to 86/MLK Blvd and the free bus stop that will take you all over Chapel Hill and Carrboro.
You will love our home because of the beautiful views, quality and cleanliness of the amenities, rare access to the creek, and convenient location. And while we have preserved some of the original features that make the home unique, the entire house was recently completely renovated and virtually everything is NEW!
Completely updated with new quartz countertops, beds and bedding, fixtures and furnishings throughout, no detail has been overlooked. From the comfortable beds to the well-stocked chef’s kitchen and full-size washer/dryer, to the large fire pit with seating creekside, fully equipped grill with picnic table and plenty of seating outside under the trees, you will find every convenience to make your stay in this beautiful setting complete. After a glass of wine while you take in the scenery on the private patio, or a bbq on the deck, follow the path lighting down the steps to the creek-side, and enjoy roasting marshmallows over a bonfire in the fire pit.
A 1970's split-level house, it has been updated to separate the first and second levels of the house, creating two completely separate fully updated floors. We live on the upper level, and guests have the entire ground level with private entrance to themselves. When we are not here, the upstairs is also available and can accommodate another 4-6 guests, great for larger gatherings. If you are interested in renting both levels of the house let us know!
At the back of the house overlooking the creek, guests have access to a private covered patio, along with a deck and a fire pit beside the creek. Besides the patio, the rest of the outdoor space is shared space with us and guests staying in other spaces available on the property.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would find in a luxury residence, such as brand new stainless steal pots and pans, coffee maker, microwave, 4-slice toaster oven, basic cooking kit, bake-ware, and everything else you could think of to entertain your guests.
The three bedrooms all have deluxe mattresses (two queen, one full and one twin) with new bed sheets, plentiful organic allergen-free pillows, blankets, comforters and duvets. The living room has a brand new futon couch that can easily be opened into a queen size bed that comfortably sleeps two additional people for a total of nine guests. A pack-n-play portable crib is available upon request. The flat screen TV and Roku comes with Netflix, Amazon Prime TV/movies, and more. The place also comes with high-speed wireless internet. The bathroom has a full bathtub and shower, hair dryer, and basic toiletries like shampoo and conditioner, lotion and soap. There is a full-size washer and dryer so that you can take care of your own laundry when on a longer stay, and an iron and ironing board can be found in the laundry closet above the washer/dryer.
The backyard patio and deck is beautiful. Surrounded by mature trees, it's quiet and features a patio set and bbq so that you can truly enjoy those beautiful spring, summer and fall days outside.
You have access to the entire separate downstairs level of the home, with the exception of the utility closet off the hallway, and the locked doors leading to the upstairs and a storage closet. We may have a few of our things tucked away in the corners of bedroom closets or dressers, but you'll find the space clean and uncluttered, with plenty of storage for your stay.
I generally like to give my guests space, but will defer to the guest's preference. Whenever possible, I like to meet the guests upon their arrival. We live above the VRBO space so we are always happy to answer any questions or address any concerns our guests have.
The space is located in a very safe, quiet older residential neighborhood great for running, biking, or just a leisurely evening stroll. Children will enjoy the neighborhood park, and find the creek an endless source of entertainment (we have several large turtles living in our creek - see if you can find them! :-)). We have a 6 year old daughter who loves playmates, and will be glad to show you around! We have several great public parks near our house, as well as wonderful coffee shops, restaurants, a major movie theater, and more. A short distance from the house is the Homestead Aquatic Center, which has an olympic-size indoor swimming pool, as well as numerous walking and biking trails. We love where we live, and we think you will too!
Private parking for up to four cars is available at the side of the house with additional parking on the street. Convenient and free buses are a short walk from the house.
Other things to note:
We do have one very friendly indoor-outdoor cat that comes and goes to the upstairs space where we live, but is not allowed in the vacation rental space. He loves to meet new people so feel free greet him if you see him outside. Also, guests should note that the space has only one bathroom. There are no additional half or full baths.
