Perfect house for our family. Great to have 2 separate living areas, upstairs and down. Loved the location and they were great about giving us early check in. Thanks!
Perfect home for our Family Reunion
Lovely well maintained home. Extremely well suited to our multi-generational family due to the four bedrooms on two floors, four bathrooms and two separated seating areas. Enjoyed our stay.
What a great house
The house was great every room had it's own bathroom , at first the house looks small from the outside but it is very roomy on the inside . I would definitely stay again .
Nice house and well maintained. Convenient location.
Parking is a problem. Need to extend driveway along side of house.
Great location around 1/4 mile to downtown.
Great property and would highly recommend it to anyone in the Chappell hill area
Perfect But Flawed
We were guests in The Carolina in May 2018. We were very happy with the property location and the 4-bedroom, 4-bath layout. Your property is beautiful, but it is flawed. There were safety and health issues we’re obligated to bring to your attention:
Only 1 of the 4 lights in the ceiling of the kitchen would light; the remaining 3 light-bulbs were burned out. Cooking and moving around in a dark environment was unsafe.
The light at the lower turn of the stairwell was also burned out, creating an unsafe walkway into the lower level. It made one of the guests so nervous that she couldn't’t go down to use that space. Unfortunately for us, that was one of the 5 guests sharing a room with someone else, and the King beds are both on the lower level, none on the upper level. This created an inconvenience for us, as the two individuals sharing a room did not have a king size bed.
The smoke detector on the first level was completely dismantled and removed from the ceiling of the hallway off the kitchen, another potentially serious safety hazard.
All three shower curtains had mold on the curtains. This is a health hazard.
The first level shower/bathtub (the one just off the kitchen) has a slippery base, with no texture or roughness on the bottom. The guests found it too slippery to use, and it was necessary to share bathroom showers designated to other guests. That was unfortunate, as we all thought we’d have our own space in a bathroom.
The lower level bedroom to the right as descending the stairs has a lamp on the dresser that is missing the rolling on-off switch, exposing only the long, narrow screw onto which the roller should be. This required plugging in and unplugging the lamp from the wall for usage.
The water dispenser on the refrigerator had such minimal flow that it was rendered useless.
Pictures and communication were shared with owner during our stay; no improvements were made before our departure.
Thanks so much for your review. Prior to your arrival we hadn’t received any of these complaints from previous guests so I was unaware of these issues
We have addressed the light bulb and shower curtain comments with the housekeeper and should be taken care of in the next few days
As for the beds we do indicate which rooms have which size beds - if needing particular sizes on a certain floor is a priority please simply ask the host and we could further clarify
Otherwise it might be best for other accommodations to have been made
Thanks again for the feedback so we can address these items :)
