About Mountain Base - Andie
Mountain Base are a rentals company who offer a carefully selected portfolio of self-catering chalets and apartments in the Chamonix Valley. Operating since 2004, we are one of the few British run businesses in Chamonix to hold the Carte Professionnelle which obliges us to maintain a Garantie Financière (cash bond) to ensure all our clients are financially protected. Our philosophy is simply excellent professionalism and service. From a speedy response to any questions through to a dedicated in-resort service, our team are at your disposal. Our office is in central Chamonix, so we are on hand to advise you throughout your stay and organise any little extras that you need. Mountain Base's services include everything from pre-ordering lift passes through to arrangements for catering, equipment hire, ski lessons and activities such as husky sledging and paragliding.
What makes this Chalet unique
Stand alone chalet for 6-8 are hard to come by, especially one with a garden, hot-tub, and outdoor parking. This is the perfect property for a family or small group of friends looking for something more than an apartment.

The booking agency were very very accommodating when we asked for an early check in which was welcome as we were traveling between accomodations without a car.
The house is an older property which has been well maintained and updated. It is smaller in real life than depicted in the photos which is not unusual or a surprise and even though we were a group of 8, 4 adults and 4 older teenagers we were not often in each others way and managed to move around the house without too much issue.
The bedrooms were comfortable, the main being good size and the other three being smaller but again manageable.
The bathrooms were modern and clean and tidy. The only downside was the poor water pressure through the whole house but I imagine this is something not in the control of the owner. Having so many people staying access to the two bathrooms, especially the en-suite was a constant issue.
The kitchen is modern enough, not spectuarly well appointed but had everything we needed. Again water pressure was a constant problem.
The laundry was used constantly by everyone as we had all been living out of suitcases for 4 weeks and it was disappointing to find that there was no clothes dryer. It made doing any washing difficult as we had to manage drying of clothes. Having no car meant that going to the laundromat wasn’t really an option and we weren’t going to carry kilos of wet clothes around town. For the price a dryer really needs to be installed.
The hot tub is old but again served its purpose. We used it a lot but again no buckets were provided to top ups and no Clorine to add and after three days we detected a smell in the water and had to ask for it to be checked. It was fixed, but we were told it normally doesn’t get serviced every second day as we have experienced at other places we stayed. We specifically booked this place because it had a hot tub and whilst it was usable it wasn’t enjoyable. It needs to be updated. There was extra towels for the hot tub which was nice after the previous house in Verbier refused to provide any. This would have been imperative considering there was no dryer.
The wifi was absolutely awful and whilst I didn’t care too much it did affect trying to book things and access at times and we had to get the teens to log off when we did something important. A speed check indicated every time that it was running at about 2 to 5mb which is a speed I haven’t experienced since the days of dial up.
A lovely comfortable chalet in a brilliant location.
Chalet is very comfortable, & everyone felt relaxed straight away. The dining area with bifold doors opening onto the deck, & hot tub, all looking out towards the mountains was wonderful.
The location of the chalet is perfect, an easy walk into town & many beautiful hikes.
We have hired this chalet for the last 2 years during the ski season. Highly recommendable spacious, cosy and very well kept, amazing views of Mont Blanc from the hot tub. The new bathroom is a fantastic addition. We could do with more utensils for the kitchen. Other than that 5 out of 5 from us!!!
Thank you for taking the time to write a review for Chalet Alpins. We are delighted to hear that you enjoy staying there and that you like the new bathrooms! We have noted your comments for further utensils and will pass these on to the owner.
We will look forward to hopefully seeing you again soon.
Meg and the team at Mountain Base.

Wonderful property....thoroughly recommend
A fantastic chalet in a great location. Decorated to a high standard and only a few minutes walk into town with spectacular views of the mountains from the garden. Thoroughly recommend.
