Nestled in the highly desirable Historic District of West Falmouth sits this antique farmhouse. Built in 1880, it is true to its history with uneven door jambs and askew floors but is a perfect blend of old and new. It provides the perfect vacation spot for any couple or small family looking to experience the classic Cape Cod getaway. Recent updates include new paint, new carpet, new mattresses and bedding, new gas grill, fire pit, new lighting and landscaping. Sit on the front porch and take in the smell of the salty ocean air, or relax on the side porch or back deck with tranquil views of the Salt Pond Bird Sanctuary.
The first floor living room and breakfast nook is sun-filled and airy. There is a gas stove for chilly nights along with Central A/C to keep you comfortable during the hottest of summer days. It is tastefully decorated and provides plenty of space for families to gather to have family meals, relax in front of the flat screen TV, or play board games. The kitchen flows right off the living room and provides everything you need to stay at home and prepare fresh meals. If you aren’t up for cooking, just follow the smell of the wood fired oven to the top-rated Chapoquoit Grill located directly across the street. The first floor also provides a cozy bedroom complete with a new queen mattress, along with an attached full bathroom. Also on the first floor is a laundry room with washer and dryer and coffee station.
As you follow the unique staircase to the second floor, you enter the second bedroom complete with two new twin beds and peaceful views of the pond right outside the window. Tucked away off the second bedroom is the third and largest of the bedrooms, complete with a new queen sized mattress, bedding, and pillows. A recently updated bathroom completes the second floor with a spacious walk in shower.
This idyllic West Falmouth gem is located 1 mile to Chapoquoit Beach or 0.5 mile to the less crowded Black Beach, simply ride or walk to either beach. Also make sure to take an evening ride or stroll to either one for spectacular sunsets. Take a quick 5-minute drive or 15-minute bike ride to the popular Old Silver Beach with white fine sand and warm waters.
You can also head out the front door and walk 0.2 mile and hop onto the Shining Sea Bike path, which is ideal for walking, jogging, biking, rollerblading, or bird-watching. You can head north on the bike path and cruise past salt marshes and cranberry bogs to North Falmouth but be sure to stop at the West Falmouth Market (0.8 miles), which serves mouth-watering sandwiches and has a large assortment of fresh cut meats. You can also head south on the bike path and make the 6-mile ride into the quaint village of Woods Hole, where you can enjoy great dining or hop on the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. Conveniently located across the street is a Package Store to fulfill any of your wine, liquor, or beer desires. The Little Chappy house provides all the necessities for the classic Cape Cod vacation that much larger and expensive homes provide but at an affordable family budget. Make the Little Chappy House your next visit!

About Shaun Geary
I was born and raised in Mashpee, the neighboring town to Falmouth, and was able to experience what it was like spending the summer months on Cape Cod. The goal for our family is to be able to provide that same experience to others and allow them to rest easy and enjoy the beauty that abounds on Cape Cod, particularly West Falmouth. I will be able to recommend my favorite destinations from lobster rolls to golf courses. We bought this home at the end of March and have been making trips from NH to get it updated and ready for guests, I look forward to talking with you and being able to share the Cape Cod experience that had such a meaningful and profound experience in my childhood and still does to this day.

Old charm new conveniences
Beautiful restored farmhouse with comfy beds and full Internet, TV, kitchen gear plus grill and bikes. Central to beaches and local hikes, bike trail and Falmouth and Woods Hole and Vineyard excursions. Friendly, responsive owner. Great in season or off. I took a fall weekend here and loved the quiet as well as the Cape Cod marathon viewing.
Chappy House a gem!
What a charming little cottage in the woods! We enjoyed out stay immensely. The area is chucked full of good hikes, trails for bikes, and shopping galore. Shaun left great ideas for highlights in the area and recommended excellent places to eat. All of this at an affordable price-can’t beat that.
Cute little house, nice location
The house has it's own history for sure;) the only drawback is low ceilings on the second floor, one needs to get used to;)
We stayed end of July beginning of August, the weather was not at its best, so location right next to bike path was a great plus, you just need to cross the road to get to it.
If you can Allow yourself walking 15-20 minutes to the beach, this house is your choice, cause you can get to beach which does not have car access, thus not crowded, with perfect sand and clear water.
One can use a car to reach any of about 10 Falmouth beaches within 5-15 minutes, don't forget to purchase beach sticker, not all beach parking lots accept cash.
You don't see any neighbors, you see a nice pond from the deck, unfortunately you can't go fishing. We stayed 6: 4 adults, 2kids, space was enough.
Owner was extremely helpful and responsive.
Hope this helps,
Good luck !
