:: LOST LODGE @ THE LAKE :: Lavishly Furnished / 4 Master Suites & 2 Living Areas + Lakefront...

Bedrooms 4
Space 3,500 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

Directly on the lake, 4 bedrooms, 4 en-suite bathrooms, sleeps 8-10

No expense was spared in its design and construction to make this the most modern and comfortable house in the North Country. You can relax in one of the two living rooms and prepare your meals in one of the two kitchens, either on the main level or on the lake level. There are even two sets of washer/dryers, one for each floor. The house is air conditioned for your comfort in the summer. The result? This may be most luxurious and most meticulously furnished vacation home on Lake Champlain.

This year, we have added even more amenities, including a dining area for eight on the back lawn facing the lake, an expanded kitchen area, and new Smart TV's in both living rooms and all bedrooms.

In short, your stay at 'Lost Lodge' will be a memorable experience. But don't take our word for it. Just click on 'View comments from previous guests' immediately below.

'Lost Lodge' sits right on Lake Champlain with breathtaking views of the Vermont mountains. The house itself is set 300 feet back from a quiet cul-de-sac. The property slopes down to the beach, which is remarkably like a pool: the lake bottom here consists of large flat plates of stone that make it easy to just walk right into the lake in summer. In the winter, when the lake is frozen, you can ski right out for the best cross country skiing imaginable. You can build a bonfire right on the beach and watch the stars at night.

"Lost Lodge" has a mooring just seventy-five feet from the shore, and the town boat ramp is just a half-mile north of the house. The City of Plattsburgh is 5 miles up the road and you can drive to downtown Montreal in exactly 1 hour. Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid are also an hour away. Whether you're here spring, summer, fall or winter, you will be close to everything you might want to do; from swimming to skiing, from kayaking to snowmobiling.

The vaulted living area on the main level is an open plan, with plenty of room for entertaining. You'll marvel at the 14 foot vaulted ceiling and french doors overlooking the lake. You'll have a 60 inch Samsung LED Smart TV with DirecTV and video streaming for those nights when you just want to relax. There is a thermostatically controlled gas fireplace in the living room; no need to haul firewood in the winter. The second living area on the lake level also has its own gas fireplace, a 42 inch flat screen TV with hi-def cable service and a fully restored Kroeger quarter grand piano.

The main level kitchen is the envy of any gourmet chef: The refrigerator/freezer, convection oven, dishwasher and range-top are all stainless steel Kitchen Aid Architect Series. The 33-bottle wine cooler is GE Profile. The stackable Washer/Dryer in the hall is top-of-the-line Frigidaire. The second kitchen on the lake level is also fully equipped, with a full complement of appliances including separate Washer/Dryer, and a dining table that will seat up to six.

Each of the four bedrooms is a master suite, with its own in-suite private bathroom; no one will have to dress to get to their own bathroom. The first master bedroom has a newly-installed king-sized Tempurpedic bed and 50" Smart TV. The second master bedroom faces the lake, with a queen-sized Tempurpedic bed and 38" Smart TV. The third master bedroom also faces the lake, with a queen-sized Tempurpedic bed and 38" Smart TV. The fourth master bedroom has two twin beds and a 32" flat screen TV with built-in DVD player.

About Chris Santry

My wife Sharon comes originally from Montreal, and I'm from Long Island. We settled in the New York Metro area but have been coming up here for many years to visit Sharon's family. We now run a vacation rental business in Key West with about 100 vacation homes, and use this home in the Spring and Fall.

Chris Santry purchased this house in 2005

Why Chris Santry chose Lake Champlain

Sharon always wanted a home on Lake Champlain. When we purchased this home, we thought we would be spending summers here ourselves, but ironically, our vacation rental business in Key West has grown so much, we have been unable to spend much time up here. We decided to offer the home for vacation rental during the summer. We still make it up here in spring and fall.

Beautifual House Right on Lake Champlain

  • 5 of 5

Our group spent a week at this lovely house in the middle of July. The house is extremely comfortable, and big enough so that you don't feel like you're on top of each other. The bedrooms are all a good size, and each has a nicely appointed bathroom. The entire house is beautifully decorated and the kitchens are extremely well stocked with everything you'll need to prepare meals. We brought up our two large dogs and they loved the huge back lawn leading right into the lake. The grounds are nicely maintained, and the house was exceptionally clean when we arrived. This house is also very convenient for day trips to Burlington (we went to Ben & Jerry's too) and Montreal - both are about an hour. Ausable Chasm is right down the street and was breathtaking, and less than a mile away is a Marina where we rented a boat one day (we also noticed Kayak rentals, but we didn't do that). I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to spend a week or two at the lake. We hope to go back soon. Thanks Chris & Sharon!

Great Property with Beautiful, Scenic Views

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for a family of 3 couples and 2 children. The home is very nicely, but also comfortably decorated with plenty of room for 8 guests. We love the convenience of having a separate, attached bathroom for each bedroom. And the views were gorgeous. We had a great stay in a secluded lake home, but with all the amenities and comfort of modern technology.

The only thing that I would caution other guests about that have never stayed in a lake house is that when water levels and water tables are high, the well may have a lot of silt in it (which cause the water to appear light brown when coming from the tap). There was filtered water available through the fridge, but I would recommend bringing your own drinking water.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and the housekeeper, Terri, was a true delight and very helpful with all our questions and needs.

Owner's Response: Jennifer- We are very happy that you enjoyed our home, its amenities and the setting. We're so sorry about the appearance of the water. We do have a very sophisticated water filtration system installed, and this is the first time the high water table overwhelmed that system. You'll be glad to know that we have asked that Terri provide bottled water for our guests' use, just in case this happens again sometime in the future.

Beautiful home and an outstanding location

  • 5 of 5

We just completed a terrific stay at Lost Lake Lodge. The picture on the website are very accurate, but when you arrive you truly understand the attention to detail that the owners have put into this property.

We were attending a wedding at the Valcour Conference Center, two minutes away from the lodge. We were also celebrating our own anniversary that weekend. I contacted a personal chef, PanLov, and they created a sumptuous meal for ten and we enjoyed our celebration 'al Fresco' overlooking the beautiful lake. The two kitchens allowed the chef's to prepare the meal without interrupting

the family.

The lodge is spacious and well maintained. I would highly recommend this place for a large family or some close friends.

Thanks Chris & Sharon for sharing your home with us.

Thanks Terri for all of your assistance

Great house for all famimlies

  • 5 of 5

This was our second time staying at the Lost Lodge and it was even better than the first. Chris and Sharon have not spared any expense with top of the line appliances, easy to follow instructions and of course, easy access to the lake. There is nothing better than having your morning coffee while sitting on the back deck looking at the boats in the water. Too much sun? No worries as a push of a button brings down the automatic awning. Of course, it's a quick trip to the ferry to Burlington, 1/2 hour to the Canadian border, less than an hour to Lake Placid. Grocery stores, shopping mall and restaurants are 15 minutes away in Plattsburgh. It easily sleeps 8 people with an upstairs and downstairs kitchen. Premium movie channels, gas fireplaces and even a piano help put a good end to a relaxing day. We will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: Nothing gives us greater pleasure that to know that our home has made a family's stay enjoyable. That is our most important goal in making Lost Lodge available for vacation rental.

Wonderful vacation in a wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful home! We loved everything about it, especially the deck. We paddled every day, did a little sightseeing, but mostly we just enjoyed the great weather in this very comfortable home. We used the grill a few times, had a fire in the fire pit by the lake, but mostly sat in those very comfortable tall Adirondack chairs on the deck. The property manager was very responsive when we asked for anything. Loved that each bedroom has its own bathroom. And the beds were all comfortable. Good quality linens, a very well stocked kitchen. We loved it all.
