Oceanaire is a first class vacation home directly on the Atlantic Ocean beach near Governor's Harbor, Eleuthera. This custom built home under went a total renovation inside and outside in 2015-2017 and features two master suites with fantastic views from every room. The location is only four miles from Governor's Harbor Airport and the closest neighbors are more than a one-quarter mile away.
Covered verandahs with comfortable teak furniture and an open sundeck overlooking the pink sand beach provide shade and sun worshippers equal opportunity to relax and enjoy the serenity of Oceanaire.
The kitchen is outfitted to please a gourmet chef, including dozens of spices and a propane barbecue on the screened verandah and dining area. The living areas inside and out are comfortably furnished with Sunbrella fabric cushions, including a teak double chaise lounge on the verandah that is a favorite and very romantic spot for guests.
The pink sand beach is secluded and runs for miles in both directions. Coral heads a few hundred feet offshore provide lobster and fish for dinner for the intrepid snorkeler.
Oceanaire now has hi-speed wifi Internet access throughout the house and on the verandahs and DirecTV with all the movie channels.

Stayed at Oceanaire for the second time. We were the first to stayed at the updated home. Pat and Linda have updated this property perfectly. The new screened veranda was perfect, roomy with fans, chairs, table and a day bed. The living room has been updated and the new TV and sonos sound system were awesome. (Be sure to download the sonos app) The kayak was more accessible by being located on the beach and secured by rope and pulley system. The kitchen was well equipped with all essentials. The reef in front of the house was perfect for snorkeling at low tide for beginners. DO NOT HESITATE TO BOOK THIS RENTAL. Will be back to Oceanaire in the summer.
Linda and Patrick have done it again. They provide one of the cleanest, most modern, well equipped house on the island. My wife and I traveled with another couple for our 2nd trip to Oceanaire. We stayed back in 2010 and the house in 2016 is just as good if not better. We enjoyed the serenity of a nearly deserted beach and shade on the large wrap around porch. The house is well stocked with everything a gourmet cook would need including spices. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable and not something you normally find in a rental vacation home. Beach chairs for travel, soft towels, video and book library, snorkel gear, and anything else you can think of for a beach vacation. Thank you again to the owners for providing such a wonderful oasis in the garden of Eden.
Just returned from 8 glorious days at Oceanaire in Eleuthera. Two couples, escaping the cold of northern New York found a little piece of paradise in Eleuthera. From the moment we walked up the sidewalk and viewed the light blue ocean and coral reefs, we knew we had found the best place for a peaceful respite. It would be difficult to list all the positives of this house and easy to list the negatives..... none.
Things to remember:
Breakfast every morning overlooking the ocean and crashing waves.
Walking a nearly deserted beach for about 40 min.south or 20 min north before running out of sand.
Visiting many sights including a great Nat. Park at Leon Levy, beautiful beach at the southern end lighthouse ( make sure you have a 4 wheel drive), Friday night fish fry, Methodist Church in Cupid Cay, Glass Bridge, many beaches including Twin Cove, French Leave Beach, Surfer's Beach. Had great food at Tippy's and TheBuccaneer. Bought Lobsters from fishermen at Twin Coves and then grilled them at Oceanaire. Drove to Harbor Island but wasn't that impressed.
Put this place on your bucket list and make sure you get to check it off.
What a great property with an amazing setting! Oceanaire is everything as advertised and more. The owners of the property are great to work with, it is well managed, very clean and everything you need to enjoy your stay is on-site, just bring minimal clothing, do a little grocery shopping when you arrive and get ready for a great time relaxing at the house, the beach or adventure out on the Island.
I highly recommend driving 10-15 minutes North to James Cistern just past the Goveners Harbour Airport around 3-5 PM and picking up fresh fish from Ton a local fisherman at the pier. He goes spear fishing with snorkle and fins every day out on the reefs and brings in fabulous fish and shellfish. The day we met he just speared a 80-90lb snapper, a fabulous fish! I spent the next two days fishing with him as part of my Eleuthera experience....
We rented a car from the suggested company that Patrick one of the owners of Oceanaire suggested, it was a great experience, they met us at the airport handed us the keys and followed us to Oceanaire to make sure we found it ok. My only suggestion is spend the extra money for the four door Mazda SUV and pass on the Chevy Lumina, the SUV was like new, comfortable and great for adventuring the off roads of the Island.
Make sure you go to Tippys, the pizza is amazing, just pay attention to the mixed drinks prices that they dont post, holy cow they are proud of there drinks. Also go to the Fish Fry on Friday nights in Goveners Harbour next to the Haynes Library it is a fun event.
There is a great liqour store and grocery store in Goveners Harbour, liquor is reasonably priced, beer is a little more expensive and so are the groceries as everything is shipped in and has a huge tariff tax, it is fun to see what they have in produce as each day changes a little bit depending on the deliveries that day, all part of the Island Adventure!
My other recommendation would to pay attention to the "no see-ums" at early evening outside, bring some bug spray and use it, they seem to be worse when it is relatively warm and little breeze, typical Island living.
My overall take is this is one of the best vacations we have ever experienced and we have travelled a lot, can't wait to go back!
First of all, we're back from Oceanaire now 3 days and still feeling surpringly "chilled out." The photos of Oceanaire don't do it justice - it's even more beautiful in person. This is our second visit and it was amazing. Oceanaire has a very well appointed kitchen for cooking/baking - including a grill on the screened porch for whatever you can find at the fish dock or grocery store. The views are to die for if you like turquoise colored waters, and we particularly liked waking up to the sunrises. When up early we watched them. If we slept in, we woke to the sun on our faces. Can't beat it. The reefs right in front of the house are teaming with fish and beautiful sea gardens complete with Fan Coral. The guest book says that some have been fortunate enough to catch Lobster, we did not, but we saw someone hauling a HUGE one up the street from the beach. Next to the last day, we were blessed w/ a pair of curious Dolphins that swam up to us for a moment, not even 8 ft. away. We saw birds of all kinds everywhere we looked, enjoyed a friendly treefrog and numerous curly tails that hang out. Eleuthera is so beautiful. There is a Kyack, but far away storms out in the Atlantic prohibited us from attempting it on this trip. It just forced us to find other gorgeous beaches on the Caribbean side. Don't let anyone fool you....Harbor Island is not the only place with Pink Sand beaches! You'll find them all over, but in our opinion, the best beach we found in our two visits is the beach at Oceanaire. Even better, if you like to be the only one on the beach!! Great people on the island, friendly and helpful. Tippy's was fun AND we had great meals! Went back a second night - (They were just opening back up only 3 nights before we left). Patrick and Linda have left all kinds of toys, snorkel gear, a few wet suits, snorkel vests for kyacking/snorkeling, beach chairs, coolers and lounge chairs on the deck just above the stairs that lead to the beach. There's a good selection of DVDs and flat screen - although we never turned it on (WHY?) and a good selection of CDs or you can hook in your iPod. There's probably more to write but I just can't say enough positive things and running out of room. Annie who overseas the house makes certain it's spotless when you arrive. We appreciate the fantastic accommodations that Patrick & Linda provide as they shared their beautifully decorated home with us. Thank you both!! It was the best trip ever!! Gwenn & Ken
Oceanaire is truly and outstanding rental property. We just returned from 7 glorious days on Eleuthera and can't say enough about what a quality rental Oceanaire is. The home is perfectly situated just 4 miles from the airport of Governors Harbour (yet you hear no planes). It is located central to so many area attractions making coming and going to explore the island very easy. The home is located on a bluff that overlooks the most amazing atlantic ocean we have ever seen. Every day we enjoyed watching the colors of the water change and the sun and skies changed. It was amazing. The home is very, very clean. Tastefully decorated with high end items from Pottery Barn, Pier 1 and Pampered Chef. Everything, I mean everything, has been thought of and included to make your stay easy and enjoyable. There are spices, coffee filters, dish detergent, dishwasher detergent, laundry soap, washer/dryer, countless books, videos and music CD's, numerous shower towels and beach towels, shampoo and soap, paper products, binoculars, telescope, WiFi, A/C, beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, reef shoes, snorkel gear a kayak! You name it and Oceanaire has thought of it and provided it for your use. It was truly fantastic to have everything we wanted/needed at our fingertips. We could literally have packed a swim suit and cover up and been set for the week!
We can't say enough about the views from the wrap around patio. Just stunning! We loved snorkeling right out front of the house seeing beautiful fish, stingrays and coral in terrific shape. High tide provided you with wonderful gentle blue water and just the right amount of waves. Low tide changed the topography totally and provided you with access to a fantastic snorkeling reef.
We even used the kayak which was tons of fun and much easier to get up and down the steps then we had imagined.
Overall, there isn't anything I would change about Oceanaire. It is a fantastic rental. If your stuck on which house or where to stay, Oceanaire gets my vote!
