About Charlotte Lark

We were invited to Big Bear to stay at a friend's cabin and liked it so much, we bought a cabin near them. We think it is one of the nicest areas on the mountain.

Charlotte Lark purchased this cabin in 2003

Why Charlotte Lark chose Big Bear Lake

We spent our honeymoon in Big Bear over 25 years ago, and dreamed of purchasing a lodge then. This house is a dream come true! It's not fancy, but very functional and comfortable, with lots of homey personal touches. Come relax, and have a good time. Make yourself at home!

What makes this cabin unique

Extra private, with a vacant lot on both sides, backing to the forest. Many mature pines bring shade and wildlife.

We love to walk in the forest, along the stream, and look for Mr Beaver, climb on the big rocks in the forest, go boating, or rent kayaks and pedal boats at the nearby Pleasure Point Marina. Fishing charters are a treat! We come up for shows at the Performing Arts Center, just steps away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The cabin is homey, cozy, spacious and secluded, exactly what we wanted. Our family enjoyed our stay. In fact, we wish we had more time. It was a nice home away from home. We can't wait for another vacation here, which we will do very soon. Thank you for everything, and for your patience. It was a great first time in Big Bear.

Great place to stay! Easy parking!

  • 5 of 5

Went to The Village(which is 1.5 miles away) with my band PMA to play at The Cave(a large venue that specializes in cover bands). Then we all made it back to the cabin. Made dinner and watched a movie. In the morning we had time to go on a hike in the forest. Thanks for the awesome weekend!

Very charming Cabin!!

  • 4 of 5

This cabin was very nice, we like it a lot!!! 😊?

From outside It looked small but inside was spacious. It looked newly remodel specially both bathrooms (high tech decor). Kitchen it’s old style but big enough to sit 8 people with everything you need to cook like at home!!

The nicest part of it too, was the open space outside.

There is no cabins next or in front of it giving you a beautiful forest feeling!

Our trip was a couple’s one, next time we’re bringing the kids hopefully it will be snow! ❄️ ⛄️

Loved, loved, loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin had everything! It’s super convenient for adults and kids. We had a great time. It’s in a good location not far from the slopes. My kids and I even played out front since the cabin is located on a hill. A sled was available for use. The owner is easy to reach and very helpful. I would definitely stay again!

Owner's Response: Thank you. The housekeeper said you left the cabin in very good order. I am so grateful for considerate guests like you, and have been very fortunate over the years to have mostly very good guests.

We back to the forest, near a stream, for beautiful scenery, sounds of wildlife, and fresh mountain air! A Bear was seen on the property Mid Sept. 2011, August 10, 2012, and Aug 24th 2013, Oct 2014, and 2016. The bear quickly walked away each time, but don't leave food out, just in case!
