A lovely relaxing stay in Puglia
We were warmly welcomed by Hayley and this set the tone for our very happy and relaxing week in Puglia. The villa and trulli were both very clean, nicely furnished, well-equipped and gave us every comfort that we needed. In very peaceful surroundings, we were still close enough to all the main routes to explore the whole of this beautiful region of Italy with its charming hilltop towns, delicious food, festivals and ancient cities. The countryside was delightful too and the villa has a lovely setting in the heart of this. We had a wonderful time and will surely return to this fascinating area.
Thank you Amelia. We are so pleased that TrulliDolce made for an ideal base for your exploration of the area and hope you have opportunity to return in the not so distant future :)
A good place to enjoy family vacation
We stayed here 2 weeks. We have been welcomed by Hailey in the evening she was very nice and always available when we need. The place is located in the countryside which is beautiful but the house is not isolated. Touristic places are located at approx. 20/30 mn away from there so you can easily get out for shopping, restaurants, beaches or to enjoy the various fireworks organized mi-August. On site, we enjoyed specifically the big and beautiful pool and also the garden around the house. Regarding the comfort of the house, it was good but we regretted that the air conditionning was only in the main room (kitchen and living room) and in the main bedroom. The two other bedrooms were only equiped with ventilators. If you keep doors opened all night it is ok for the bedroom in the main house but it was not enough in the trullo at this period with the high outside temperature. As last comment, do not expect to have a permanent and efficient access to the wifi, the reality is that, in that part of the countryside, we had a very very poor access to 4G and to the wifi (some days we had absolutely no access to both of them) so we could never call our family or organize activities and visits from home which was to me the main drawback of the location. We managed this by going everyday few hours in town.
A peaceful and happy piece of Puglia.
With an expert greeting from Annie, the local agent, and an efficient charm which commenced from the first introduction to the villa, it is difficult to fault any aspect of the villa, the grounds and the pool, although the weather decided to challenge us with perhaps the wettest week in months, if not years. Nevertheless, once we gained our bearings we visited many of the local towns and sampled the restaurants and their tradtional cuisine and wines. The primitivo and negromaro grape varieties are surely under appreciated in the wider world, as is the cooking and hospitality of the area but it is the quality of the support which Annie and the owners gave to us during our stay that we will remember above all else. The cooker challenged us once or twice so a repairman arrived the next day. The lid of the waste bin broke - it was replaced the next day. Thenpool, sadly under employed due to the silly weather, was beautifully maintained and of larger proportions than expected. The garden provided delicious figs, almonds and even pomegranates.
The owners, Glenn and Kasia deserve top marks, as does their wonderful agent, Annie.
Thank you so much Catherine and James . . . so happy that you found TrulliDolce a good base to explore the tastes of Puglia (including the wine!) despite the epiccally horrible weather. Annie and I enjoyed meeting you and sharing some of our local knowledge. We hope you do get opportunity and desire to return in the not-too-distant future. All the best, Glenn
Lovely quiet spot - outdoor living area between small Trulli and modern house. Lovely big pool. Close to Ceglie and convenient for Ostuni.
Great family stay!
Great villa! We had a wonderful time here - the villa and the grounds are very well maintained and the trullo was amazing. Our kids loved it, particularly the swimming pool!
The villa is conveniently located to explore some really lovely places (AlberroBello, Ostuni, Martina Franca and Lecce) and the beach is about 20 min drive. We would highly recommend it!
Thank you Andrei and Family . . . we are so pleased that your family holiday was a huge success. Hope to have you back again in the not-too-distant future.
Beautiful Property, Great Location
a brief summary - Wow!
The longer version:
I came with a group of guys to have a relaxing week in the country. There was so much to do that it went by before we could even make a dent in all there is to do around Ostuni.
Highlights - we mostly cooked dinner at home because we have some amateur chefs. Even in mid- October the weather was great for cooking outside both in the large brick BBQ and the wood burning pizza oven. Great fresh ingredients as well as cheeses, pasta and salamis are available b driving a short distance in any direction.
Favorite restaurant - Summer Cave in Polignano a Mare. It is a bit of a drive, but the setting is like nothing else in the world and the food is incredible.
Unique item - Rocca Vecchia swimming hole
The house is well kept, very clean and Glenn made sure everything was up to our fairly high standards.
Thanks David. The swimming hole near Lecce is quite an experience...as is dining at Palazzo gel Grotto. So glad you all had a great time.
Tranquil and private Puglian countryside with in-ground pool, set on nearly 1 hectare (2 acres) of olive/fruit grove and other Mediterranean plants -- yet easily accessible (10-15 min by car) -- to hilltop towns of Ostuni, Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica and Martina Franca, and must-see UNESCO World Heritage sites - Alberobello (45 min) and Matera (1 hr 45 min). OSTUNI BEACHES: 20 MIN by CAR. ZooSafari amusement park for children nearby. Gorgeous beaches. Lecce, Gallipoli, Otranto, Santa Maria de Leuca make for excellent 1/2 or full day excursions.
