Excellent cabin

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed staying here. The log cabin is cozy and tastefully decorated; it was neat and well-furnished. Although we brought a lot of our own things along (utensils, sleeping bags, extra blankets), not knowing what exactly to expect, we noted that the owner had provided and plenty of kitchen utensils and extra blankets. The cabin's kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, and a dishwasher and washer and dryer. Dana has supplied detergent and dishwasher tablets and mostly everything that you might need in your stay.

The power went out for 2 of the three nights that we stayed; the cabin stayed reasonable warm thanks to the wood-burning stove, which we used not only to keep us warm ( everyone slept in the main hall in sleeping bags on the floor and on the sectional), but also to reheat our food and to make tea and hot chocolate.

this gorgeous cabin got the full 5 stars for the first night's stay. I'd have given 5 stars after the remaining 2 nights too- but to be honest, by the time the third night rolled round, I was a bit cross from having lost sleep trying to keep the fire alive two nights in a row to keep the little kids in our group warm. As it was the dead of winter, the cabin got cold very quickly if the fire went out. To be fair, this is no fault of the owner's - as the power was out in the entire region.

In view of the frequent power outages that take place here, I do feel that the cabin ought to have one and/or the other of the following: a back-up generator and perhaps a landline phone. The network here is poor and I worried what we would do if there had been an emergency.

Nevertheless, this is a cabin that I would book again with pleasure next year - with or without electricity. A generator would be a welcome bonus, but even without, it's a beautiful and cozy cabin to stay in.

A memorable trip for sure.

  • 4 of 5

Stayed 2 nights over New Years. When we arrived there was a fresh of hot coffee made to welcome us! There was ten of us so we filled every bed except the pull out couch. There isn't any insulation betweeen the floors so it's quite noisy for the ones who go to bed early or try to sleep in. So just make sure your clan is on the same routine and all good!

Great place for a big group

  • 5 of 5

With lots of room to spread out, our extended family group of 9 (plus a dog), had a wonderful weekend together. Lots of space to gather around the huge table for a meal or game. Kids loved the neat sleeping arrangements (loft). It had everything we needed including some sleds for enjoying the snow! Well maintained, well equipped and very comfortable. Beautiful wood construction which added to the "cabin" experience. Thanks!

Lovely log cabin to get away with friends

  • 5 of 5

We were a total of 13 friends staying at the cabin for a get-together in late September.

The cabin has everything needed to fit a large group, from kitchen amenities (including dish washer!) to bedding and towels. It was clean and the beds were really comfortable. We enjoyed having the pool table downstairs as well as the big dinner table and BBQ upstairs. The WiFi worked exeptionally well and so did the satellite TV. The bottom of the ski hill is about a 20 min walk away and we had a nice walk up the ski hill (approx 3 hr return with breaks). Dana was fast in responding and super easy-going.

For large groups, the sleeping spaces are pretty open and the bathroom space limited. It worked for us, but you should be comfortable with eachother when staying there together. Also, the neighboring house is fairly close to the property and, while it didn't bother us, we could hear them use their outdoor space till late at night (and they probably also heard us using the BBQ and deck area).

Overall, we had a great time and the cabin has an absolutely amazing flair! We loved the interior of the log house and the decor! Would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a getaway with some good friends (or family) in the woods!
