Great location for longer visits, walking distance to everything you need
We are living on our boat during August this year and offering our Phinney Ridge cottage for rent. I am still working on good representative pictures but am posting to see who might be interested. It is the best time of the year to enjoy our great neighborhood and our comfortable, daylit, custom home. We have an upstairs master bedroom (queen bed), bath, large closet with washer/dryer and a study with a deck and view of Mount Rainier. Access to upstairs is via a spiral stair case. Downstairs the front bedroom is set up for kids with a raised bunk style bed (play space below), and loft accessed by ship ladder that has both playing and sleeping (double futon) area. We have deluxe pack n play that would work for a crib and a few other toddler basics left. The third bedroom, also downstairs, is set up as a TV room with a fold out double sofa. The kitchen is the hub of activity, it is open to the back sitting area, dining room, and front entry and has a breakfast bar made of old bowling alley floor. There is a small back patio with a grill for outdoor dining, and a parking space.
We are half a block down the hill from Greenwood Ave towards Greenlake. Within a block in either direction are two ice cream shops, two coffee shops, a fire station, a bank, a Pilates studio, 3 restaurants, a bookstore, a card store, a florist, a consignment shop, a salon/barber, Greenwood Hardware and Ken's Market (full, neighborhood grocery). Longer walks take you to the zoo, Greenlake, the library, and the "downtown" of Greenwood at Greenwood and 85th.
The house will be fully stocked with everything for the kitchen and staples (spices, condiments, etc.), linens, and books and toys for kids (Our son is an 8 year old boy into Legos, soccer, and reading). We will pack up clothes and toiletries and put things in storage so there is plenty of room for you.
1 off street parking spot (small, backing in recommended)
1 queen, 1 double futon in loft, 1 pull out double, plus kid top bunk and pack and play
2 full baths
1450 3000 lot.
Not available after Labor Day weekend.

About Elizabeth Powers
We purchased the original 800 shotgun cottage in 1997 because we loved the neighborhood and it met our only 3 absolute requirements - daylight, on a bus line direct to downtown, and view "potential." We were either in grad school or first jobs and had time on our hands. Since then we have added on the back, built a second story, and stripped the front down to studs and rebuilt it. 20 years later, we are both in senior leadership roles in our fields (environment and education), own a couple of rentals, and have an 8 year old son to keep us busy. We are taking on another adventure and living on our boat for 6 weeks or so this summer (docked in Lake Union).

Located perfectly if you want to enjoy one of Seattle's best neighborhoods on foot.
Great little house with all the amenities and very private. Sits on a quiet street, but just half block walk gets you to coffeehouses, pubs, ice cream shops, and a small grocer in one of Seattle's best locations.
Great house for family, location excellent!
Our group included 2 children, ages 1 and 3, parents and grandmother during our visit to Seattle; the homeaway was perfect with toys for kids and within walking distance there are restaurants, coffee bars, ice cream shops and a grocery store. We loved the house and friendly neighborhood and highly recommend.
