Our rental changed from Point Lookout to Chesabelle. Chesabelle is one of the best VBRO's we have been lucky enough to stay in. The house has been beautifully remodeled with attention to all details and amenities. The location is perfect, easy access to sights, restaurants and shopping. After a day of adventure all I wanted to do was sit in the secluded & peaceful setting and enjoy the amazing views.
Compact but chic
We loved being in the woods yet so close to the beach in this very chic tiny abode.
Love the tiny house. Very high end of & tastefully done.
Pleased with the concept of the tiny house experience. Surrounding property was private & pleasing. Would do it again.
Unique, wonderful experience! totally romantic.
This was much better than i expected! the tiny house is absolutely adorable and fully equipped (think 'glamping'). It's nestled in the trees. Across the street is your own private, sandy beach. best of both worlds. The sunrises over the Chesapeake were spectacular. The moonlight swims and the quiet evenings in the cozy loft were memorable. And did not expect so much 'nature': bald eagles, egrets, deer, wild turkeys, bunnies, oh my.
We are definitely coming back.
Not quite what we thought...
The tiny house is very pretty, the blinds in the bedroom, kitchen and bath are very nice. The fact that there are NO blinds in the seating area or on the glass door was awful. There were construction workers two doors down that could see right through the whole house. No blinds made it very uncomfortable after dark so we had to use towels and bags over the windows. Spiders galore outside. I brushed off the chairs, put on bug spay and still could not have a cup of coffee outside the tiny house. The beach was nice, kayaking in the Chesapeake was nice, the toilet was what they said, it was a composting toilet, we did have to call once to have the bottle dumped and they were there with in 10 to 15 minutes. They were very helpful when we called. We really appreciated the letter we got before we got there that explained what was in the area for restaurants and other activities, that was very helpful. Bed was comfortable, WiFi was spotty, only two windows where we could get it. Cable was nice, no AT&T service anywhere on the property, had to drive down the road for my phone to work.
We're sorry that the lovely Mac Intosh was not quite what this guest expected. It's best for us, too, if guests know what they are getting. We don't think this high quality tiny house or the level of serve we offer in any way warranted the 2 rating this guest left. But, readers of the guest's review will see that for themselves.
We think it's pretty clear from both the photos and description that Mac Intosh is nestled in a half-acre wooded lot. City slickers (and I am one), this is not the boardwalk. It's a lovely, rural beach community - a place to disconnect.
Before addressing these concerns one-by-one, we note that this guest never called during her stay for assistance with any complaint. Unlike most VRBO rentals, we have local property managers and maintenance assistance. But, it's pretty hard to help if a guest doesn't ask. So, now:
Spiders outside. The Mac Intosh is nestled in the woods AND it's was a warm winter so, yes, the outside has some spiders. Mostly harmless Daddy Longlegs. Really, they are not everywhere, though. I've enjoyed coffee in that same spot many times.
Blinds. As the guest noted, there are blinds in all the private parts of the Mac Intosh - just not the living area. But, if guests really want them there, too, we can add them. We would have installed them during this guests stay- while they were out kayaking - if they had only called and said it was important to them. (We do note that construction workers would have needed some pretty good binoculars to peer in those windows)
Construction. By the time you read this, the construction work two lots north will be finished.
WiFi. We have upgraded the WiFi router so future guests should not have a problem.
AT&T Cell Service. We really can't help here. But, we hope that guests are coming to disconnect - at least a little.
We're glad the guest found our staff prompt to respond to her one request (not a complaint).
If you are still reading now, you are probably just the kind of guest we welcome to our retreat that combines the best of woods and water!
Great little house close to the beach.
The tiny house was well appointed and comfortable for a few days stay. Shaded outdoor space was nice for relaxing. Staff promptly replied to questions. Convenient to beach and short walk to kayaks. Loved listening to waves while sleeping!
