The perfect weekend getaway!
Clean, comfortable and great location. The boat had everything we needed. Beds were small so we all took our own and spread out. Surprisingly large amount of fridge space. Hot tub heated quickly. Really enjoyed just sitting off the back deck, taking in the view of the water and mountain and watching all the harbor activity. BBQ worked great. Big table inside for family games. In the heart of the harbor for shopping and getting coffee in the morning. A plus was the live outdoor concert in the park for Sunday morning worship just right outside our deck. Water was cold but we all swam. I would highly recommend this as a fun alternative to a hotel.
Super Fun Hotel Alternative!
We were in town for a wedding, and the house boat worked out great for our group of two families, all adults. There were plenty of sleeping spaces and all of the necessities were provided. We only did light meals, but walked to coffee and dinner (20 minutes for AMAZING burgers). There are some restaurants and fun shops to walk through in close proximity. Our group loved the quaint location since everyone could get out and go get something if they wanted to.
There were three cabin sized "bedrooms"...they are VERY small, but adequate and have a door. There were three additional beds besides the couch without a door, all in smaller and close quarters - think camper beds. There was a full bathroom, very functional and a half bath right next to it.
The boat is very close to another house boat, and our neighbors were having a fun party. It wasn't quiet until midnight or so, but again, we were expecting a camping/party atmosphere, so it was all good for us.
Some of us are *upper middle agish* and the beds were a bit on the brutal side. They are RV quality beds, probably about full sized. We expected this so we weren't disappointed, but anyone who is looking for luxury sleeping comfort will be bummed.
The hot tub could have been a little bit cleaner and topped off with more water. (The cover had been left off?)
Sarah was very prompt in providing the information we needed.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay in the boat, it was a super alternative to everyone trying to find their own room and figure out how to be together. The back of the boat had a really nice little deck with plenty of chairs for gathering and having our morning coffee. Even though we were there on a hot day it was comfortable inside being on the water and having the air coming through the open front and back doors.
Fun Fun Fun
Great experience! Dan is very accommodating and helpful. Sarah helped me with my booking when I accidentally reserved the houseboat on the wrong date and worked it out for me. Location is perfect. Plus you get 3 kayaks with the rental. My first time using vrbo and I'll definitely use it again.
The Gig Harbor waterfront is just beautiful this time of year and I love the opportunity to welcome new visitors as well as local residents to Pleasurecraft Marina! Staying aboard a houseboat is unlike any hotel experience.
Beautiful surroundings, excellent customer service!
This was a wonderful experience. I took my youth group and they all had an incredible time. I'm already planning a family trip back !
Stocked, clean, help available at marina
We used this for a birthday party and enjoyed being able to BBQ and use the hot tub. There are lots of beds even though we didn't need them. Would be great to come back with family next time. The boat itself is older but everything but one of the fridges was in working order. The owners got this boat ready for us earlier than they planned after buying it, so that may be why. I felt the owners were super helpful and communicated with us to ensure we had what we needed during our stay. All the necessities were on hand as well, which made us feel comfortable. Fun change of pace! I'm very appreciative that they went out of their way to have this boat ready for my birthday.
The historic waterfront of downtown Gig Harbor offers a unique blend of shops and restaurants within walkind distance of Pleasurecraft Marina. The public dock has boat moorage for $1.00 per foot per night if you wish to come by boat.
