Glamping On The Water - 45 Minutes From Nashville

Overview

About the property

Waterfront camping on the crest of a point that overlooks Bledsoe Creek

Water lovers alert! A spacious tent with a full view of wide open water sits at the top of a point in a scenic country setting. Sleep on memory foam beds. Enjoy kayaks, bicycles and fishing. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers with camping experience, and families with kids age 8+. Unplug, unwind and refresh at my place that's been described as a "sanctuary." Everything is provided - just bring your toothbrush!

Experienced campers love my place because it opens time for fun and saves a LOT of work - no need to load a vehicle, unpack at the campsite, break camp and unload back at home. Inexperienced campers love it because the memory foam beds are deliciously comfortable and my glamping is like an outdoor hotel. Infrequent campers love it because it saves money investing in camping gear and tents used only a couple times.

Directly across the creek is Bledsoe Creek State Park with walking trails running parallel to the water.

If you enjoy the outdoors, you will LOVE glamping here!

About Leslie Dunn

I moved to Tennessee after spending most of my life in Gainesville, FL. Six years ago, I moved to Castalian Springs into an old farm house set on the most beautiful piece of property to be closer to my job. I've been grateful ever since.

I helped bring recreational kayaking to Nashville in 2008 and the next year became a certified kayak instructor. I've taught over 1,000 new paddlers. I've written three books available on Amazon and published in magazines and newspapers since the '80's.

Hope you come glamp with me and share the beauty of my home.

What makes this campground unique

When I was first shown the property, I first looked where I could put my kayak in the water and then viewed the home. Shows my priorities, right? Bledsoe Creek is unlike any other creek. It's wider than most rivers I've paddled. Sunsets over the water inspire the photographer in anyone. There's nothing like waking up to morning's fresh air and birds and listening to the frogs at night. My place is more like a sanctuary than an oasis but it is both. :)

Owner's Response: Thank you, Tena, for choosing Come As You Are Camping for your sweet hubby's birthday! You guys packed a weekend of fun into one day with the kayaking, campfiring, and keeping the tent windows open for the night breezes. Before I forget, Bernie and Ziggy said Hi and we hope to see you again next year. Y'all were great guests and welcome back anytime!

Great place and time for family with older children to relax

  • 5 of 5

Leslie has thought of everything to have waiting on you when you arrive. Pack your clothes and bring your food (or eat out at any of the cute local places). Leslie leaves all maps and directions in tent. Memory Foam beds, side tables and everything you need to cook. Beautiful scene to wake up to. We really enjoyed the kayaking, caught some fish, hiked in the State Park and spent alot of time in the hammock (bring yours). Tell the kids there is no way to charge their phones (but there is) and you will have their undivided attention. Packing up was so easy since we didn't need to bring very much. Leslie is around as needed to help with anything (including jumper cables for us). Bernie especially and sometimes Ziggy were our only guests. We were there during the week with a very quite lake/creek but I'm sure it is busier on the weekends. Lots of boats at the marina and homes.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for choosing to stay with me. I truly enjoyed watching (from a distance) your family play together! I enjoyed reading your details and you added a good point that hadn't occurred to me - leaving is a breeze when all you have to pack up are personal things like clothing. Thanks, guys! You are welcome back anytime.

Great Private Lakeside Camping Adventure

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time at Leslie's place! My daughter especially enjoyed all of nature out there as you can experience it first hand. And to have everything provided that you might possibly need, Leslie thought of everything! She was a great hostess! We didn't kayak but it was available, we'll have to do it next time. What a wonderful body of water there at Bledsoe Creek! What a great view we enjoyed the whole time!

Owner's Response: Larry, Donna and their family camped in the past and enjoyed having everything already set up for them. All they had to do was bring clothes and food. I enjoyed seeing this hard working couple relaxing in camp chairs overlooking the water and enjoying the view. Great guests to host!
