i had a great stay at this condo. Everything was as advertised. The condo was spotless and the pool was right outside the door. The property manager will leave a cellphone for you to contact her if you need anything. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this condo to everyone. Thank you Jack.. It was a pleasure dealing with you.
My stay was enjoyable and Club La Costa is a great family vacation spot. The condo is spacious, but the pull out bed is not comfortable and the main bedroom beds could be upgraded to king.
We really enjoyed this condo! Neat, clean, comfortable, and almost everything we needed. Everything worked except satellite TV and Wifi, and with a teenager, there is only so much reading that can be done. It was within walking distance to beach, market and downtown. Jack was easy to communicate with, along with Esther the property manager, who was very helpful.
This condo is really nice. It is comfortable, and (important for a July stay) easily cooled off by its air conditioner. It is every bit as nice as the pictures indicate. Everything is easy to use, though, only one of the burners on the stove works.
The location is great. We were in town for a wedding at the posh Cabo Azul resort. This condo was literally across the street, making going back / forth a breeze. On said street were shops and eateries useful to us - a coffee shop, a nice Italian restaurant (yes Italian...and it was good), a clothing shop where I picked up a shirt for the beach wedding ceremony, a pharmacy for toiletries, etc. From the condo I was able to jog through Estero San Jose, a beautiful estuary / bird sanctuary, just two blocks away. However, Just a short car/cab ride away (five min.) is downtown San Jose, which, with its cobblestone streets, a big town square, an art district, shops, brewery, restaurants all within strolling distance of each other, is where you wanna be if not on the beach.
All dealings with Jack, the owner, were above-board, pleasant and productive. He strikes me as an honest man who cares for his property and wants his guests to have a good Cabo time. Jack also utilizes a local property manager to help out with mid-stay issues that may arise (there is even a cell phone waiting for you to call her and check in upon your arrival...which really is a nice touch - far more welcoming than the time-share-sales-men that welcome the local hotel guests). The property manager was courteous and responsive, if not always in the know.
There were really only two issues we encountered during our stay. First, the pool, accurately described on the site as being fifteen feet from the condo, which was beautiful and inviting, happened to be being maintained all five days we were there. This was a disturbance for a couple reasons: with an infant and members of my party looking forward to daily therapeutic pool exercises, the pool's proximity was a big reason why I chose this place. Also, though there were other pools not very far away from the condo, the near, advertised pool was clearly the biggest and nicest. We had no prior notice of the pool being out of order and neither did the property manager, which was frustrating. Second, our water cooler bottle -which we left outside with the refill fee, per instructions- was not refilled for two days. The manager attended to the issue.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The Good: Close to store, resteraunts and town. Very Clean aside from the cobwebs all over the one bathroom in the shower. Great supply of books and VHS movies, Dvds but dvd player doesnt work so didnt help. Neighbours are very nice. Emailed owner once we arrived with ha few questions regarding resteraunts (he said hed send a list but i never got it) and never heard back. Was very helpful though prior to arrival with sending some tips of where to go for beaches and fishing etc. The store across the street makes AWESOME sandwhiches!!! highly reccomend! The pool and hottub are great, very nice looking facility but found out halfway through that babies arent allowed in the pool... I felt that the price was fair for what I got.
The Bad. Inaccurate description. Condo is not ocean view at all, no spices or salt/pepper in cupboard (so make sure you buy what you need at store) I was annoyed when i found that the cupboard was empty aside from a bit of coffee as I didnt buy any salt or pepper or sugar since the description said it came with a stcked unit. No biggie, I went out and bought some and we ate out the first day.
It is LOUD. The condo is situated near pool where homeowners gather and drink etc. Only a few nights went past ten (till 4 am!!) but havign a little baby it was hell to get her to sleep. The gardeners in the morning woke us up every day at 6am having loud conversations outside our window. Again, baby doesnt sleep-we dont sleep. Satelite tv-not really,very few channels. Internet only works at one far end of the pool, and only works sometimes. This was annoying becuase we were there for a long time and had to do some work online and made it very difficult. BBQ doesnt work well, sort of boiled our meat.
Best resteraunts: Habaneros=awesome bennys. great fish tacos, and the sloppy texan. amazing.
Tropicana=great seafood enchiladas
The mexican taquilary (behind walmart on the side street) So good very authentic. chicken burrito and the stuffed clams, margeritas are good too!
happy time drinking bar-great margaritas. the guyworking there is awesome, let my mom hold his baby, and we watched 80's music videos while we drank. fun times.
Shopping-If you dont get at least 50% off the asking price your getting hosed.
summery: would i go back? san jose-yes. Club la costa? maybe the unit? i suppose it depends who i am travelling with! The description needs to be updated for sure as it is a bit misleading. The manager is great (Esther)
Condo is as nice as it looks in the pictures (if not more so). Very comfortable beds. A little construction going on out front, but you don't notice the noise (although the view of the ocean from the pool area was taken away.) We stayed as two couples there and would rent this unit again!
