Great visit to Rome!

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is lovely, I visited with my adult daughter so we had a room each so it didn’t feel crowded at all.

Roberta kindly arranged a pick up from Ciampino airport as we arrived quite late and we didn’t want to mess around with public transport. The cost of this service was €50. I would actually recommend that you just take one of the white taxis from the taxi rank outside the terminal - the cost is fixed at €30 - I only discovered this once we were in Rome and this is how we travelled back to the airport for our return flight.

Roberta’s apartment is very comfortable and well equipped, in a great part of town close to many lively restaurants in lovely piazzas. Some with live music! The apartment feels safe and if I wasn’t such a light sleeper the trams would not have disturbed me. Take earplugs if you are a light sleeper - the beds are lovely and comfortable :) saying that, we fell into our beds exhausted most nights after all the walking and sightseeing.

Recycling is available in different coloured bins on the street at the front of the building.

Roberta also gave us details of the night show at The Forum. We opted to go to the Ceasar show. It was great, very atmospheric and gave a good insight into how Rome would have been 2,000 years ago - complete with headsets, lights and photographs. Great evening with gelato to follow :)

Great apartment in Travestere

  • 4 of 5

This location turned out to be great. It was further from the sites but transportation was no problem using the tram that came right outside the door and was easy to navigate. We enjoyed having 2 bedrooms and our girls loved the upstairs area as a play spot. We made dinner in the apartment twice so I can speak with confidence that the kitchen was well stocked to do so. We shopped at the grocery store once but found we were so busy that it closed before we could get back to the apartment. Fortunately there are tons of mini-marts for the basics. Beds were reasonably comfortable and the blankets were super warm. The heated towel rack in the bathroom didn't work. We couldn't figure out how to get the dishwasher to work but the washer worked fine.

We were disappointed that there were not restaurants that we could easily find and no recommendations were made. I had read they have traditional trattorias here but we didn't experience this. Would have been easy to have information provided in the apartment. Nice stay and wouldn't have a problem staying here again.

Owner's Response: Hello Suzanne, so sad to do not have the chance to check you in personally on your arrival, maybe Andrea didn't give you the full infos about the many Restaurants and Trattorie around the apartment in Trastevere area even next door! Many previous guests left suggestion on our Guest book, but you probably was not being properly informed of it as well as the dish washer and the washing machine operating. About the heated towel rack it is connected to the central heating system which is not provided in this period of the year, still so worm, being it regulated by city of Rome Municipality. Hope to have you back as guest next time and to check you in personally next time! Roberta

Lovely apartment

  • 4 of 5

Apartment was ideally placed for sight seeing in Rome. Trams run regularly past the apartment in to Rome, with a stop almost right out side. Very cheap fares, a great integrated service of trams and buses.

The apartment was a haven of peace after a day out sight seeing. It was very comfortable and spacious, I would highly recommend it to any one.

Convenient and Well Kept

  • 5 of 5

Roberta's apartment is clean and well kept. Kitchen is especially well stocked in case you want to fix breakfast or a meal. More than adequate for a family of 2 adults and 2-3 kids or two couples. Tram stop right outside the apartment, CONAD superstore 10 minutes walk away. Not a fan of Orange but the bakery nearby is great for breakfast/coffee. #3 tram to Collosseum, #8 to Roman forum and then walk to Travi foutain and/or Spanish steps (both locations have many restaurants nearby for dinner etc.

We took the train from FCO to Trestavere and walked to the apartment (~1KM). You can also take #8 tram from the station and get down at the third station. You get train tickets from the book stand outside the station for EUR 1.30 ea. It is not difficult to do. Public transportation is great in Italy and Roberta's apartment has easy access. Loved our stay and would love to go back.

Rome 2017

  • 4 of 5

We just returned from Rome July 25th, stayed 5 nights at Roberta 's flat. Roberta was able to set up transportation to pick us up and drop us off at the airport. Both drivers were on time and professional! Regarding the flat- there's plenty of room! My daughter-13 slept upstairs in the loft area, my son-15 in the double bed and we slept in the master bedroom. The pillows and mattresses are perfect!! There is also plenty of space to hang your clothing inside her wall unit- storage area. A few important details that we were not aware of but want to share- the hair drier can only be plugged into the hall outlet, this also applies to the iron. Don't forget to bring a converter for the outlets. There are plenty of pots and pans and cooking utensils and dishes in case you want to fix a meal. Also paper towels would be awesome to have available in the flat. The pizza next door, not orange but the older gentlemen who owns the pizza shop is super sweet and the pizza did not disappoint!! The shop owners on her block were very friendly! I am not shy so it was easy for me! The bus outside #8 goes into the city. The #3 does also but takes a different route. I am definitely coming back and I would recommend Roberta's place to anyone!!
