About Lynn Grant
My husband,my daughter and myself live in Stratford-upon Avon in Warwickshire. My husband works in the construction industry as a quantity surveyor, our daughter works in television and I am a practice nurse. We spent a number of years visiting various Greek islands before finally falling in love with North East Corfu about 15 years ago. We then spent almost 5 years searching for the perfect plot of land on which to build our home.
Lynn Grant purchased this Villa in 2012
Why Lynn Grant chose Corfu Town
When we first saw the plot of land after 5 years of searching we knew immediately that this was the place for our home in Corfu. Overgrown with wild flowers and circled overhead by house martins, buzzards and the occasional fly past by the local eagle and with dream like views over the Corfu channel to the misty mountains of Albania just 2 miles across the sea it was love at first sight! Having saved up enough cash to buy the land we then set about building our dream home. With the mountain location and stunning views I would have been happy living in a tent, fortunately this was not necessary as our friend, a local builder found a young and innovative architect who helped us to transform our dreams into reality. We were lucky that at all of the important stages of development of out beautiful home we were able to arrange to be present, including laying the foundations - a day which I will remember for a very long time, not least because the concrete lorries had to park on the turning point for the local bus- no problem as our friend, the builder who was over seeing the work ferried the local ladies to their destinations instead, a very sensible and Greek solution to the problem. The setting remains tranquil and we are still visited by our feathered friends, the house martins in particular enjoying swimming over the infinity pool. In the early evening as the sun goes down all you can hear is the gentle chiming of the goat bells as our neighbouring goats return from the mountains to be milked by Spiros the goatherd in order to make his delicious organic feta cheese.

Great location off the beaten track
Fab location, somewhere to return to once experienced.
The was the fifth time we have been to this area of Corfu although we usually stay closer to Nissaki.
Villa Claire is the finest property we have stayed in. I have only compliments.
If I were to criticise anything it would be that the promotional photos don't do it justice.
Congratulations and I hope we are able to stay there again
Thankyou very much for your lovely comments.
Hope to see you again at Villa Claire in the future
Stunning property in NE of Corfu
A beautiful dethatched villa with stunning views across the straights to Albania. We had a great stay in the outskirts of the village of Loutses, a few minutes from Perithia.
I recommend this property to anyone, the only consideration being that you will need a car to get about but there are lovely places to see only a few minutes away. We hope to come back again at some point.
This was my first visit to the beautiful Island of Corfu. Villa Claire is immaculate and well-equipped with absolutely stunning views of the Albanian mountains and a fantastic infinity pool. The owners of the Villa are lovely and are incredibly helpful when advising on where to go, what to do, where to eat etc. (although the Villa does have a fully-fitted kitchen if you fancy a night in). Overall, my stay at Villa Claire was fabulous and I could not recommend it more!

Gorgeous villa with a stunning view
I went with a group of girls and we all had an amazing time.
This villa has everything you need for a relaxing break and is well furnished inside and out.
You will be taking lots of great pics of the infinity pool/view and will never want to leave!!
Villa Claire is set in a peaceful mountain location with stunning sea views. Within walking distance of local tavernas serving Mezze and local wine served under the grape vine . A 5 minute drive will take you to the small village of Perithia with 2 excellent tavernas, a thriving supermarket, an English butchers shop and the best ice cream parlour (in our opinion) outside of Rome. A 10 minute drive in either direction will take you to beautiful local sandy beaches, both of which offer safe bathing, sunbeds to hire along with pedalos and fantastic fish tavernas. For those seeking solitude a number of small beaches can be accessed on foot - just take your towel sun screen and a cold water melon - bliss! The world heritage site of Old Perithia is 5 minutes away with its fascinating 'ghost village' and fabulous tavernas - one of which was featured in Rick Steins Mediterranean Odysea -definitely a place to visit for food lovers, and an ideal starting point for some fantastic walks. There are walks for all levels of fitness ranging from a 5 minute stroll to a hike to the summit of the nearby Mount Pantokrator home to the monastery and the place to sit and take in the most stunning views of the Corfu Channel. The delightful harbour town of Kassiopi lies within a 10 minute coast road drive. This is the place to sit and people watch whilst sipping a Greek coffee in the morning or a pre dinner cocktail or a cold beer at sunset. For our younger guests (or even the not so young!)this is a safe town to sample the local night life - there are many tavernas and bars to cater for all tastes including many traditional Greek tavernas, more than one of which features Greek music and dancing on a nightly basis in season. This is also the embarkation point for the romantic evening boat trip to Corfu Town where there is plenty of time to enjoy dinner on the Liston and overlooking the famous cricket pitch before a spot of retail therapy in the bustling side streets. The seaside town of Acharavi with its water park and spa resort hotel with facilities open to the public is an easy 10 minute drive away. There are many well stocked restaurants and tavernas along with banks atm's,supermarkets and gift shops. A walk through the streets of the old town is well worth the effort. For that special unforgettable dinner the beach tavernas are the place to head - menus which spoil you for choice and beautiful sunsets over the sea, just don't forget your camera! If all of this sounds exhausting you could always chill out on one of your three sun terraces whilst enjoying a poolside barbecue the choice is all yours - you are on holiday.
