Modern Comfort & Style In A Historic Building With Front Porch.
SEE OUR REVIEWS ON OUR OTHER TWO LISTINGS: 92019 AND 639820.
The Nest on Broadway is our newest "perch" - it's right next to Drover's Way (#639820) and in fact, you can rent both places if your party is bigger than two but you want your own space. We love that you can walk to all the restaurants, bars, and shops downtown but not have to hassle with downtown parking. Sit on the front porch and watch the world go by (including horse and buggy sometimes, which harkens back to when the farmers brought their animals to market this way). You may even see the goats and chickens at the fence across the street from the wide window that overlooks Broadway. We have the best of all worlds - an easy stroll to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, a great coffee shop and a fun new brewery, all within a 3 minute walk), yet we have on-site parking and the character of a 100 year old house, just off the beaten path from downtown.
Walk past the world-famous Moog Music factory two blocks up, on your way to exploring downtown Asheville, with all the amazing locally owned and sourced restaurants, stores, art galleries and music venues.

Why Lynne Harty chose Five Points
We love the proximity to downtown Asheville, being within walking distance to everything, while still having the luxury of privacy and a convenient parking space. Having a FREE parking space in downtown Asheville is a big deal! The house is loaded with the character only old houses offer, and renovating it continues to be an act of love and hard work. The Nest on Broadway is next to Drover's Way, and is 1/2 mile down the hill from our other property, the Asheville Urban Nest. We have been hosting guests there from around the world since 2004 and love helping our guests find all of our favorite places in Asheville. If you want more space, you can rent Drover's Way and the Nest on Broadway together to get two bedrooms and two private baths - the whole upstairs of the house. Many vacation rentals are getting shut down because of recent crack down by city of Asheville. We have legal permits for all three of ours, so you don't have to worry about this if you stay with us. Staying downtown gives you the best of all worlds - great restaurants, shops, music venues and galleries, while a 30 minute car ride has you on top of a mountain with amazing views!
What makes this Apartment unique
Convenience! We love being a few minutes walk to High Five Coffee, Greenlife and Trader Joes, as well as just down the hill from all that central downtown has to offer. Habitat Brewing recently opened a block away too and we offer our guests a free beer on us! The house has some very cool features - such as the pocket windows in the Drover's Way apartment that sink down into the wall vs. up! We like to sit on our big front porch and people watch as we enjoy our lunch during the week days. Meeting our guests has been fun as well, as we love to play tour guide. Festivals such as the Lexington Arts Festival and Downtown After Five are centered right at the Lexington bridge two blocks away so it couldn't be any more convenient to walk to those and hear live music. See the horse and buggy go past our house just as the pigs and sheep did many years ago when Broadway was called the Drover's Road. The Reed Creek Greenway is just around the corner, which is a new bike/walking path between Five Points and UNCA that is a very pleasant way to explore this part of Asheville. We are on the edge of Montford, and old neighborhood full of Victorian architecture, B&B's and several neighborhood restaurants within a 5 minute walk - Chiesa, Nine Mile and Todd's Tasties. Montford is a nice area to explore on food or by bike. The UNCA campus and the Asheville Botanical Gardens are less than a mile away as well. Asheville Yoga Center, a hub of yoga events, is walkable too. Habitat Brewery opened in 2016 and they often have interesting events and food trucks - they are just a minute's walk away.

Fantastic stay in Asheville
The Neat on Broadway is a lovely, thoughtfully-appointed room and a great home base for exploring the city with no worries about parking. I’d book this property again.
Thanks Molly! We were glad to have you and happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the NOB. Come again!
Perfect place to stay in a great, fun city!
Not only were the accommodations wonderful, comfortable, and centrally located to everything that you would want to do in Asheville, Steve and Lynne were the perfect hosts. They provided recommendations for the city’s vibrant restaurant scene, and overflowing brewery culture. They also shared their favorite hikes, nature walks, and adventure tours with us. Asheville also has a great live music and arts scene. And we took full advantage of all the recommendations!
We came to Asheville for a family reunion. My brother and his girlfriend rented the other door apartment, the Nest on Broadway, which was perfect for us. We each had our own space, but we stayed together.
The apartment made it so easy to walk anywhere in the city. Next door is a great cafe (High Five), and the city’s best restaurants, like Curate and Over Easy Cafe are a short walk through the charming downtown. Great breweries like Burial and Hi-Wire, not to mention Funkatorium are also easy to walk to. We even found a great speakeasy with live jazz music called the Crow and Quill right on Broadway and only a couple minutes walk from the apartment!
The apartment has a parking space so we rented a car and drove to hikes like John Rock and Mt. Mitchell and DuPont Forest’s Triple Falls. We took a short drive to the River Arts District to eat at 12 Bones and drink Wedge beer. We hit up West Asheville and ate fried chicken at King Daddy’s.
I can’t wait to stay at Drover’s again! It was such a perfect location to walk or drive to do everything and anything you want to do in and around Asheville. It also doesn’t hurt that Steve and Lynne are such attentive, kind, and helpful hosts!
High quality customer service.
We were accidentally double booked at the nest on broadway due to a rental site issue, and Lynn called us right away when she caught the goof. I expected a sorry, good luck - but she instead rebooked us another location with another host. That shows a level of care beyond my expectations. I would definitely look at the nest sites again next time we’re up here.
We never considered not taking care of you guys when the booking snafu was our mistake (calendar sync problem since fixed) and are glad you guys had a great experience at our friend’s place. We hope you will stay with us next time you travel to Asheville. Lynne and Steve
Perfect downtown hideaway
We loved The Nest in downtown Asheville just north of town on Broadway. There is onsite parking and access through the house directly to a small studio apartment on the second level. It's got lots of light, is very nicely furnished and is CLEAN, which I always appreciate. The bed is comfortable, there is a table and chairs as well as a little window nook with a TV and couch. We were in town for a "working weekend," so we used the table and couch to prepare for our upcoming week. As far as going out and about, we could easily walk out the door and meander through town to a concert at the Orange Peel and to all the local shops and restaurants. We loved The Nest, the owners were very friendly and communicative, and we'll definitely come back again. :)
This was perfect for our weekend getaway! The location can't be beat. We walked everywhere we wanted to go downtown. The room is comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. Lynne and Steve are super helpful and accommodating. This will definitely be a place we will return!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Please come again,
Lynne and Steve
Perfect spot for access to DT Asheville.
Apartment is very cozy with very good amenities. Gentle hill to DT is no problem. I'd suggest you upgrade to a larger TV from the current PC monitor. Asheville is great and I'd definitely stay at the nest again.
Thanks Alan - I'm glad you guys enjoyed the Nest. As a matter of fact we just ordered a new Samsung TV for the Nest - should be up in the next week or two. Come back and you'll see...
We are on the edge of downtown Asheville - the 240 bridge that defines the border is .2 miles from the Nest on Broadway. The apartment is located inside a 100 year old craftsman house next to Drover's Way, our other vacation rental (639820). You can walk to all downtown attractions and enjoy the free parking on site.
