Guestbook comments from the owner

Our stay in this mountain retreat was delightful. Perhaps our favorite times were having breakfast and dinner on the deck with the great view of the mountain and the hummingbirds visiting the feeder. The house was comfortable and architecturally fun; the kitchen was thoughtfully organized and well stocked. We were looking for a place high enough to be cool in the summer with reasonable access to Asheville and other interesting spots—this place was perfect. Our grown children, who joined us for a few days, enjoyed the house and were impressed with the many hiking and sports activities in the area. Robert was easy to communicate with and promptly responded to requests. The house should be even more comfortable and spacious when Robert finishes the basement. We plan to return.

Amazing mountain home in serene setting

  • 5 of 5

This home is the perfect home to make your mountain vacation getaway. The location is minutes to Maggie Valley, Waynesville and Cherokee. The house is perfect for couples or families. Super comfortable beds and plenty of hot water for everyone. Excellent internet!!!! Well stocked kitchen for those who love to cook. The upstairs loft area is great for kids to play (puzzles/games/books). The downstairs den is great for quiet time to read a book. We loved the porches and ate outside almost every night. We even had a few fires...yes, even in August!! The weather was sublime! Enjoyed working with Robert to secure our two week vacation. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Owner's Response: Wow, what a nice review! Over the years we have consistently made improvements to our home and attempt to maintain it in great condition. It is after all, our vacation home and when we are there, we want the same comforts as in our primary home in Florida. Thank you treating our home with care and respect. Your family is welcome back anytime.

Family Time

  • 4 of 5

My siblings and I gather each year for a church conference at Lake Junaluska. We gathered this year and four siblings and spouses used the Maggie Valley property as our base. The property is easily accessible, comfortable and with three levels large enough for people to have their own space. The outside deck on the street side of the house was spacious and relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped and the rooms were furnished tastefully. The reading room on the bottom floor was especially nice. The advertised animal heads were not a distraction, the wi-fi and TV reception were good and the home owner was easy to communicate with and work with. We were a little disappointed that the creek sounds were not as prevalent as we would have liked.

Owner's Response: Well, it sounded like you had a very nice time and appreciated the care and effort we have undertaken to make our guests as comfortable as possible. The flow of the creek and the corresponding sounds, factors attributable to mother nature, are out of our control.

Beautiful and well maintained home. Secluded but a short drive to everything you need.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our time there. It was great to get away from the heat wave we were having at home. The home was everything I expected and more. It's in close proximity to restaurants and the Parkway if you want to go site seeing and a short drive to Cherokee, Bryson City and Asheville, so you get the best of both worlds. Country living at its best.

Beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home and just as described. It is easy to get to and the roads are well maintained. We stayed in October and the view was spectacular. Robert provided info on local restaurants that was right on. You can tell when people take pride in their home. It is clean and very well maintained with updated features. We saw wild turkeys and found raspberries on the property. Just a beautiful setting. I highly recommend this property to anyone staying in the area. Thank you for your hospitality. Mel B

Owner's Response: Thank you for joining us for a 3rd year. We continually strive to maintain our home properly and constantly make improvements. We have just upgraded the tv in the Master Bedroom to a Samsung 37 inch smart tv so those who have Netflix have more viewing options.
