We are blessed to be able to rent it to your group. We have active teenage kids in too many sports. The ability to share our favorite place with you is a perfect fit for us. Some day when the kids move out, we will be able to use it more!
Teri Robertson purchased this cottage in 2006
We are snowmobilers and we needed a place in the snow belt near the trails. This is perfect because we have kids and we dont have to ride on busy roads to get to the state trails. The local groomer is pretty visable. In the summer, we love to golf and this Gaylord location offers so many options in high quality golf courses. The kids like the community pool and lake fun. It offered the best of both worlds.
The view is great in every season. We have a view of the middle of the lake, but are protected by a treed island two houses to the left of our property. This protects our beach from jet ski's and creates a great cove for fishing.
Had a wonderful time with the whole family at Robertson Retreat. Plenty of space for everyone with flexible sleeping arrangements and lots of seating space in the large living room. The home has a beautiful view of the lake, and is located on a quiet cove protected off of the main lake area. Everyone enjoyed the lake time- especially the dog! The extra lot across the street for additional parking was very helpful. The pool is very nice with plenty of deck chairs and locker rooms with showers. The development has wonderful public amenities beyond the pool- boat launch, pavilion with picnic tables, fishing dock. Conveniently located to all that Gaylord has to offer. Lots of nice golf courses in the area. Already planning our family vacation back here next summer!
We arrived for our weeks vacation to a clean and well kept home. This is our 2nd year renting a place on this lake but our first at the Robertson Retreat. There is 9 of us (from 75 to 3 months old). There was plenty of room in this home for all of us. We all enjoyed the lake and many of us got lots of use from the water board. We caught enough fish for a meal. The kitchen was equipped with everything needed and the coffee drinkers in the group loved the coffee pot. For the past 2 years we have said we were going to the pool but have so much fun down at the lake we never leave. Alpine chocolate downtown has the best chocolates. We enjoyed the Robertson Retreat so much we have already booked our stay for next summer. And last but not least not one single bug was found anywhere!!!
Arrived on Friday July 8, 2016. House needed a thorough cleaning. There were huge spiders and bugs throughout the house. The kitchen cupboards were horribly disorganized and extremely dirty. The window air conditioners worked well but the spacer from the conditioner to the window had gaps allowing bugs to enter. There were cob webs and dead bugs along the wall. (How could this be if it was just cleaned?)
The outdoor furniture was filthy.
A floating trampoline was listed as "Outside Entertainment" in the letter sent from Robertson Retreat. Asked Terri about it and she stated it should not have been advertised but it was in the letter she sent. There is now a paddle board that is replacing the trampoline. The hammock that is pictured and looks so inviting has a huge hole in the middle of it. It was also unusable.
The beach is not at all as pictured. There really is NO beach. Only waters edge and dirt. There is a very steep hill leading to the water.
We had issue with aggressive dogs in the rental next door. Terri attempted to get the dogs taken care of but the only truly safe way to ensure my dogs safety was to send my dogs home. Seems the association should have rule against allowing aggressive dogs at rentals. So, beware...Terri attempted to fix the situation but to no avail. Be careful with your pets. (Terri did refund my pet deposit)
We brought kayaks and a boat and that was truly a joy. The lake and water is beautiful. The pool was also nice.
If you choice to rent this...bring lots of Raid to kill the bugs crawling on you while you sleep. I came home with multiple spider bites. We left on Wednesday (instead of Friday) due to being creeped out by the bugs. The last straw was the cockroach on the counter.
The property was neat, clean, and in a great location. First half of the week, had golfers up, & last half of the week, children & grandchildren. Highly recommend!
We rented the Robertson retreat during July 2015 and had a wonderful time.
The house was very clean. A couple of bedrooms are small but adequate.
The large living room and comfortable seating made it very nice for a large multi-family group to hang out and watch movies together. It is an open staircase going downstairs, so plan to bring a tension gate if you have small children.
The kitchen was large enough for a couple of people to work together without bumping in together. We had 4 families, so the dining room was a bit cramped; but we were able to eat most of the meals out on the deck with an additional table (thanks Teri). There are two levels to the deck so keep this in mind if you have small children.
The backyard play area issmall because of the hill going downward toward the water but the beautiful lake view more than made up for the smaller area. The hammock was a hit.
The beach is small (not quite as pictured); but more than enough for our children to play. We had 6 children 5 and under. The water’s edge is nice and sandy with no drop-off. Perfect beach and play area for small children. There is afternoon shade on the beach that was a welcome relief from the heat. We had temps in the 90’s. The volleyball net was great fun.
The two upstairs window air conditioners kept the main floor comfortable. The basement level has ceiling fans in two of the bedrooms so even without central air it was fine sleeping.
The extra lot across the street came in handy to park vehicles and trailer.
Teri was very quick and courteous to answer any questions that I had prior to the vacation. During the vacation, we had no problems that needed any help.
Depending on your service, cell phone reception is hit and miss. We paid for the internet; but had problems getting a connection.
We had a wonderful time and plan to rent again in 2016
Your cottage was a perfect rental, the view was amazing. The house was very clean and the house was spacious. Our family had a great time and made many memories around the bonfire pit. The location was perfect, we will come back again for sure!!
Thank you again!
