About Mike Jacobson
Retired fireman and Hotel owners. We Love Ten Mile Lake and the surrounding area. Mike has been going to Ten Mile every summer since his Grandpa purchased the cabin in 1960. Together we purchased the cabin from Mike's father in 2003. We now spend our summers in a year round home on the other end of the lake.
Mike Jacobson purchased this Cabin in 1960
Why Mike Jacobson chose Turtle Lake Township
The property was purchased by my grandpa in 1960. We have many years of family memories at this cabin. In the 70's I used to take the boat to work at the Ten Mile Inn Restaurant. It was torn down around 2005. Now Finn's is the new restaurant built on the original site. You can still take you boat over to Finn's for dinner.
What makes this Cabin unique
The cabin is located on a point with slight elevation. This allows for excellent views. In the water the point has pure sand with a drop off at just the right distance from shore. The cabin is South facing which provides a sun filled day on the grass area and in the water where there is a pure sand bottom. The sauna and outdoor shower make for a true up-north cabin experience.

A great get-away Cabin on a beautiful Lake!
A nice relaxing time with plenty of leisure to partake in. Sauna, lake swim, outdoor shower and a nap was my daily agenda! The owners were close by to accommodate and the neighbors very friendly to offer suggestions of places to visit nearby.
Thank you for the nice review. We enjoyed having you stay at our cabin and are glad you had a great time. We definitely appreciate your note to help us improve our cabin for future guests. Thank you, Mike & Lynette
The cabin is Northwoods cozy, on a hill surrounded by pine trees with a great view of Ten Mile lake.
We had mom, dad, three boys ages 12, 10 and 6 and grandma on our vacation. The cabin is finished in knotty Pinewood with timber beams and wood floors to give it a cozy, rustic feeling. We all slept comfortably with plenty of room to eat and relax. The full tub and shower bathroom inside, the outside shower and newly installed outhouse outside worked great for our group. There is plenty of scenic outdoor patio seating to relax and share a meal under majestic pine trees too. Down the hill near the water the fire pit was a great feature we enjoyed daily. There is a storage shed and sauna building near the fire pit that was perfect for storing fishing gear and water toys. My wife and I very much enjoyed the sauna; it is newly constructed with cedar wood, clean, easy to operate and very relaxing. The lake is so beautiful and clear and great for all water recreation activities. The property has a large shallow, sandy area for swimming that drops off quickly at the end of the pier, making it great for diving and fishing. The pier is probably 60 feet long with an L shape to provide a space large enough for two people to cast for fish in the deeper water at the pier's end. The inside of the L has a wide stair with handrails that allows all ages safe and easy access into the clear water and onto the sandy bottom. We enjoyed swimming in the deeper water and surface diving with a snorkel, mask and fins too. The long side of the pier was perfect for tying up our boat. We had a pontoon boat with a 50 hp outboard and the water was plenty deep with the motor trimmed all the way down. The cabin also comes with several kayaks, two paddle boards, a two-person paddle boat and an small row boat we did not use that I think had a transom for fitting a small outboard motor. In nearby Hackensack there is a nice bait shop with all sorts of fishing gear, a food store and a liquor store. The more summer touristy town of Walker is also nearby but we only drove through there on a rainy day when we drove up to Itasca State Park to do some hiking and see the headwaters of the Mighty Mississippi; this is a beautiful park with a lot of history and a must see if you have driven a long distance for this vacation. We loved the cabin, the property and lake and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, cabin-by-a-lake vacation.
Henry, thank you so much for taking the time to write such a nice review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at our cabin. And thank you for taking such good care of everything while you were there. We would love to have you back in the future.

Great fishing and swimming spot
Great, cozy cabin for families. Beach area with clear water and sand is great for swimming for all ages. My teenage boys loved fishing off the dock and caught many bass. We enjoyed cooking family meals with the new gas grill and the windows in this unit provided fantastic lakeside views at all times of the day. The location between Hackensack and Walker is also a PLUS! The outdoor shower and sauna make it a unique, memorable cabin feel. Don't forget your beach towels!
Sherry, thank you for the nice review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. I know you had great weather the week you were there. I was glad to hear your boy's caught lots of bass off the dock. The family that arrived today will be grateful that you threw them back. They are really looking forward to catching fish. Would love to have you again next year. Mike
