About the property

Condo, 3 Bedrooms + 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Newly completed in July 2005 this large (1500+ square feet) three bedroom/two bath duplex is across the street from the beach. Master bedroom has king bed and private bath with seperate tub and shower. The other two bedrooms both have queen beds with a twin on top. Tile and carpet throughout this roomy first floor duplex. There are only five duplexes (10 owners) in the complex, and only half rent.

This is a quiet and private complex with a pool located close to all amenities in Gulf Shores. Two sets of French doors open to a front porch that is 8 x 30 feet and offers views of Little Lagoon as well as limited views the Gulf of Mexico. Both bathrooms have marble baths and sinks as well as glass doors and the master bath offers a separate tub and shower. Living room: 42" TV , Netflix, DVD, master bedroom: 32" TV and DVD. WIFI Included!

The complex sits on a narrow area of Gulf Shores between the Gulf and Little Lagoon. Little Lagoon is less than 30 yards from the house to the north and the Gulf is 100 yards to the south. Everything is close by: sand, sun, food, shops! Beach access is across the street at any public access point. There chair rentals through Ike's in the summer months, by the week or day.

What makes this condo unique

Watch kids play in the pool from the front porch. No need to haul all your 'beach stuff' in and out of elevators and in and out of a room just leave it under the house. Covered parking for aleast two cars. Grolls onsite. Peir 33 is sooooooo convient for those 'small things' you need to grab like drinks and other things.

Great location, very convenient to the beach. Has everything you could need and is a very nice place with a lot of space. Walking distance to several restaurants.

Wonderful place to stay

This was our 3rd trip to Gulf Shores and 2nd time staying at this property. I cannot say enough about the property and owner. Very spacious, neat, well furnished. Updated some furnishings from last year to this year and what was replaced was nice when we were there last year. The owner, Philip, is very nice and quick to respond. The home is directly across the street from the beach, just a few steps to the sand. :) Very centrally located and convenient. Pier 33 grocery is next door for incidentals you may have left at home. Great restaurants nearby. VERY comfortable for my family of 4, consisting of 2 teen aged kids. You will not be sorry you stayed here. We hope to continue to vacation in Gulf Shores and stay at Philips' property.

First - did you enjoy you stay question above would not allow me to change it to NOT REALLY, so that would be my choice

We are not first time visitors to Gulf Shotes

This condo is very, very nasty and dated. There had not been any cleaning at all - we actually had to go out and purchase bathroom cleaner. The showers were dirty, with rust and dirt in the tracks of both showers, caulking around the commodes were dark brown. There was actually hair in the shower from previous guests. There is months of dust on everything - plants have very visible inches of dusts.

The carpets have NEVER been cleaned or replaced. All furniture is dated and old, seriously need to be replaced. Ceramic towel on floor has NEVER cleaned.

The linen is very harsh and old. We washed all bed and bath linen - not sure if it had been cleaned or changed.

The kitchen was also dirty, countertops, dinning table not cleaned, chairs stained. The dishwasher not mounted to countertop and falling out of space, pots are horrible at least 10-15 years old with all handles broken and or so old and loose they are falling apart.

Lawn chairs on deck chipped and very worn.

This condo needs a complete remodel, will NEVER, NEVER stay at this property again, or any other property owned by this owner.

Really nice owner; condo could use some work

The owner Phillip was super nice and very easy to get in touch with before and during our stay. Unfortunately, our experience with the condo wasn't as good. When we arrived, I couldn't tell (other than the kitchen) that it had been cleaned. The floors didn't seem clean, the towels in the bathroom were old, the carpet in the master bedroom has seen better days, and the fans had an inch of dust on them. I re-washed all the sheets and towels just to ensure that they were clean. This condo needs a good cleaning and sprucing up. The 2 leather chairs in the den were so old and worn out, I couldn't believe they were still in there. The walls had all kinds of scuff marks on them. The ironing board didn't work and had a hole in the cover where an iron must have burned through it. The pillow cases had stains on them when I removed the covers. Also, in the VRBO listing it says "marble bathrooms." The "marble" is a faux plastic-like marble. Also, with it being Memorial Day, the walk across the street with 2 kids was extremely dangerous. There were cars coming in all directions and there was no easy way to access the beach. And to top things off, we could barely sleep at night for the noise of the unit above us. I guess the ceilings are thin, and we could hear every single movement they made. This made for some very late nights. We ended our trip 2 days early due to weather and all the above-mentioned items. Philip the owner was great to respond when I had questions, but I think the condo needs a good update and cleaning for the future.

Very clean and convenient, really enjoyed our stay next time I will google local events. We weren't too crazy about The Hangout Fest and horrible traffic situations! I will definitely stay here again. Thank you Phillip for letting us stay at your place!
