This quaint home was very well appointed with every convenience and necessity. It is actually 2 of the historic trulli that are linked, so it was very spacious compared to the other rentals. The beds were comfy, there was everything needed for preparing meals, dishwasher, washing machine, a cute little private courtyard for relaxing. The owner and the manager were extremely pleasant and helpful in every way. We enjoyed eating out, but occasionally got the things to make dinner at home. There are a lot of shops nearby to get what's needed.
We stayed a week and after exploring Alberobello, we drove to neidghboring areas for more sightseeing. It was central to all of the places we wanted to go: Bari, Monopoli, Taranto, Matera. The owner provided a list of places to visit in the region, as well as local restaurants and attractions.
Authentic trulli experience with 21st century comforts!
Beautifully restored and thoughtfully equipped property right in the heart of Alberobello. It provides a welcome haven from the town's daily onslaught of visitors - beware they'll want to come inside! - and is deceptively spacious inside. Be aware though that parking is not 'free' but available: charges are Eur 6 per day plus Eur 10/12 overnight to park your car nearby, otherwise you need to use street parking on the outskirts of town, about 10 to 15 mins away.
The perfect place to stay in Alberobello.
The two of us stayed in the Alberobello Trullo for 3 weeks and used it as a base to explore the towns of Puglia. It's location within the town is very central. It is spacious and comfortable and beautifully cool on a hot day. The private garden courtyard is the standout feature and we spent most of our time relaxing in it. There is free parking about 500m from the Trullo.
A couple of minor issues; the double bed in the main living area is an uncomfortable sofa bed and also there is no hot water in the kitchen sink.
I would thoroughly recommend staying at this beautiful, quiet and peaceful Trullo in the heart of Alberobello. The hosts were friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Fantastic and unique stay
We spent 3 nights in this lovely homestay as part of a longer family holiday exploring Puglia. The Trullo is in a great location and felt like a unique experience, my 4 year old daughter absolutely loved it. Its a big space with a lovely relaxing garden. The decor felt traditional yet practical and comfortable. You feel really special when there are lots of tourist walking around all keen to see inside a traditional Trullo and you are getting to experience one all to yourself!
In Alberobello one or two days is more then enough to see the town but we also used our car to visit the local caves and some beaches about 30 mins away, all very easy to get to and worth the time to see.
The only downside to property is that the main bathroom is not within the house but just less then a meter away in the garden, it's not a problem but I was 7 months pregnant at the time so had to get up several times a night to use the bathroom! and it was spring so a bit chilly! Don't let that put you off, it's just good to know to manage your expectations.
Rare experience! Nice host!
We spent 3 nights here and it was wonderful to have experience staying at a trulli! It's so interesting that we took lots of photos. And you will only feel it when you live inside of it - no matter how hot outside is, it's cool inside; the unique structure made interesting lighting; all the little rooms offered cozy feelings. The host cannot be nicer - she had a text message supporting line with us and helped us with every little things. She even hired a taxi for us because we don't speak Italian. The local foods are wonderful, including the local cheese/ham/fruit/vegetables. The nearby towns (especially the cave) are amazing.
Wonderful Trulli - Holiday
My kids and I spent a wonderful time in the Trullo-House. Everything was as beautiful and romantic as described in the text. The house is very well equipped and clean. It is situated in a quiet and lovely neighbourhood, surrounded by other Trulli. We loved especially the garden with its flowers and trees. There is a little supermarket nearby, and some other shops, selling local products. And a friendly neighbour sells fruits and almonds. One can easily visit many interesting places like Locorotono, Martina Franca and Cisternino. We can really recommend the Trullohouse for an unforgetable holiday!
Alberobello, the only town to have a historical center made up exclusively of trulli, located in the heart of the beautiful plateau of the Murgia, 420 meters above sea level, nestled in one of the most beautiful countryside of Italy. The sea can be reached by car in about twenty minutes along a nice panoramic road between olive trees and stone walls. The stay in the trullo is ideal for a holiday which alternates the beach life to the visit of the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of the area. The square footage of this unusually abundant trullo (total almost 100 square meters) and the presence of an internal courtyard with garden make pleasant even just stay in the country to discover the culinary excellence and craft of the place. Besides the beaches of Monopoli and Ostuni and possibly those a bit 'more distant the Ionian Sea (48 km) are worth visiting: the white towns of Locorotondo (10 km) and Ostuni (34 km), the caves of Castellana (21 km), the baroque of Martina Franca (16 km) and Lecce (122 km), the Romanesque Trani (104 km), Molfetta (83 km) and Bari (53 km), the ceramics of Grottaglie (44 km), the castle octagonal Frederick II at Castel del Monte (130 km), the "caves" of Matera (72 km), the medieval town of Otranto (176 km), the Museum of Magna Grecia in Taranto (44 km) ... just to mention the most goals notes. The car is therefore recommended. The streets of Puglia are panoramic, comfortable and little traffic. A recommended solution for those looking for the taste of ancient and true things, is not suitable for those looking for the luxury of modern hotel facilities.
