Many nice touches found upon our check-in! I won't ruin the surprises! The cottage was exactly what we expected. The view of the bay was fantastic. The only improvement suggestion would be insect control. We had quite a lot of ants in the kitchen and spiders. I do understand this is a lake property but there seemed to more than normal. The property managers were very responsive to our questions via text. The fire pit looked amazing but was under water due to the high lake levels, hope to enjoy it next time! The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cooking equipment and spices too. Overall, a really good experience.
This property was beautiful! I was extremely happy with our stay.
The beach and location were perfect for our family!
Our week long stay in Suttons Bay was amazing! The house was clean and well appointed; the only downfall was no washer and dryer... especially with two little kids. We either walked into town or to the Hop Lot daily, the grocery store is right around the corner and we made lots of day trips to Sleeping Bear, Old Mission, Leland and Leelanau State Park. Perfect sandy beach for kids and our dog, just had to be careful with the street. Overall I would highly recommend!
Nice place great beach be ready to spend all day outside.
Needs more airflow everything else was great
The beach was amazing. The cottage was cute. The only drawback was the road between the cottage and the beach. It would not be ideal for small children.
This cottage is across the road from its private sandy beach. Its true the small children and dogs do need adult supervision. However S Shore Dr is not a heavily traveled road such as M-22/West Bay Shore Dr. Don't be discouraged by this because the beach is well worth the inconvenience.
My family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids under age 6) had a wonderful week. The house is nicely decorated and had all items we needed to cook meals daily. All the issues listed in previous reviews were taken care of. The best part was the semi-private beach. The road in the photos looked like a driveway, but it is actually a pretty busy road. We didn't mind though, it was fun to watch the trucks carrying cherries, cyclists, vintage cars, and other traffic roll by. It was not hard to cross, you just need to use caution. The only point to suggest for improvement is for the management to tighten up some of the routines and information, the info online and in the printed 'house manual' had contradiciting information (like whether there is a washer/dryer - there is not btw, but the laundromat is close by,) and making sure the gas grill has a full tank of gas. (The gas tank ran out mid-preparation of meal. The management was quick to respond, but could not refill the tank until the next day.) Overall the location is perfect, the scenery is beautiful, the beach is ideal, and the neighbors are nice.
