This home is newly renovated (2017) and very close to French Quarter. A short ferry ride and you are in the heart of it all.
You’ll love my place because of the location, the views, the sound of the calliope from the steamboats along the river, the people, the coziness.
My place is good for friends, families (with kids), and also big groups (you can add the house next door and sleep a total 18).
About The space:
Our open floor plan brick cottage has been recently renovated and everything is new. We have an open courtyard for you to enjoy. We just planted the garden so our bamboo wall is starting to grow...if you have a chance we wouldn't mind if you watered it! :)
About the Area & Location
Algiers Point - one of the hippest areas in the city. If you are looking to chill and hang out in cool spot, Algiers Point is the place. The neighborhood is home to Congregation Coffee House (my personal favorite), Toute Suite Café, the Dry Dock Café and two great bars - The Old Point Bar (check their website for their live music line-up) and the Crown & Anchor, a British Pub in the heart of the Point.
Getting around in Algiers Point
If you are driving, we are one of the only vacation rentals in New Orleans with off-street covered parking for up to 2 cars.
If you are not driving, you won't need a car if your staying in the Point. The Canal Street ferry will get you to and from the French Quarter. Uber and Lyft are in full swing in New Orleans so if you miss the ferry, its' a quick trip across the bridge.
The entire 1,200 sq foot home is yours to enjoy. The house has a courtyard in the back and parking for up to 4 cars in the front. The main entrance is to the side of the home, where the lock box is located.
We also offer a large Victorian home (VRBO # 614079) that sleeps 12 right next door to this home and they share the backyard if you are interested in additional sleeping areas.

Very Pleasant Stay
Overall, our family of 4 had a very nice stay and we were glad we stayed here. Algiers Point is definitely a great place to stay, close to the French Quarter, but far enough away to be a quiet respite. The sound of the boats at night definitely adds to the ambiance. The surrounding neighborhood is quite charming, we found multiple restaurants nearby where the food was great and people were friendly and helpful (we especially loved Tout de Suite café). We also enjoyed being able to use the pedestrian ferry to get to and from the French Quarter – it is a cheap and easy way to get around (if only it started operating before 10:30 on the weekends, and took something other than exact change!). The house is very comfortable, and away from it all, yet close to it all. The covered, off street parking was much appreciated, and the full kitchen came in very handy. We only had three complaints: 1) upon arriving for our stay, one of the beds was not made and looked like it had been slept in (though it was easy to fix since there is a washer/dryer), 2) there were no trash bags (tricky since check-out instructions were to put all trash out in the trash bins before leaving), and 3) there is only one trash can for the whole house.
Comfortable and clean.
Very nice and clean cottage. Enough towels for everyone which I absolutely loved. The house is located in a very quiet neighbourhood, but not to far from all the fun and action, I will definitely recommend this house if coming to the New Orleans.
It is a great place to stay. The house itself is clean, well stocked and just what we needed for our visit. Two bedrooms but only one has a door but still has privacy. The half bath really made a difference. It is in a great location. Several great restaurants to try right near by.
A quick ride on the ferry to downtown New Orleans. Just a perfect place to stay, go to the city then come back to Algiers Point to relax.
We watched the New Years Fireworks Show on the river banks. It was the best ever! We met lots of local folks and they gave us awesome advice on where and how to go places.
We would definitely stay here again.
