Historic Lavender Farm In the Willamette Valley

Bedrooms 4
Space 2,300 sq ft
Property type farmhouse
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

Restored Craftsman 4 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom on 6 Acre Farm

The Little Lavender Acre is in the heart of Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley. Our working lavender farm is located just outside of the sleepy little town of Sublimity just east of Salem.

Nearby destinations:

- Downtown Salem (20 minutes)

- Silver Creek Falls (25 minutes)

- Oregon Garden / Silverton (20 minutes)

- Portland (1 hr)

- Oregon Coast (1.5 hrs)

The surrounding hills include numerous hiking destinations including Opal Creek and Breitenbush Hot Springs. The Willamette Valley is also home to many wineries and craft breweries.

Our charming home was the original farmhouse for 200 acres, and it is nearly 100 years old. Much of the lumber used in the fir floors and wood trim throughout the house was milled on these 200 acres. Over the past decade, much love and thoughtful care has been taken as we have continued to restore and update it to create a comfortable home where visitors can relax in the peace that you are sure to find here. Many of the furnishings are vintage pieces that have been acquired locally from the surrounding farms. You will wake up to hear the birds sing from the cedar and walnut trees. Of course, you can also sit on the lawn or gaze out the windows to enjoy views of our lavender field during the summer blooming times. A herd of deer frequently sleep in our back field and come to nibble between the rows of lavender at dusk nearly every evening. In the fall and wintertime, create fond memories with loved ones playing board games in front of the fire or cooking hearty meals together in spacious kitchen. Finish off the day with a warm long soak in the deep cast iron tub under the soft glow of the crystal chandelier. Have a glass of wine on our large covered porch in the evening or enjoy your morning tea in the enclosed sun room with views of the back property. Come and enjoy our cozy and seasonally decorated farmhouse. In the summer you can enjoy the air-conditioned indoor areas, the covered porch, or the spacious grounds for a picnic. Our place also serves as a handy launching pad for winery tours throughout the region. A friend of ours even runs a wine tour company and has agreed to pick up guests from the property (

The Main Floor

Several steps leading up into the large deck in front of the home with a covered area for visiting as well as an area that is uncovered if you'd like to enjoy the sunshine. A propane BBQ is provided. There is ample, comfortable seating on the porch, which look out over two of the largest incense cedar trees in the area. Once inside the house, on the main floor, there is an open floor plan with a spacious kitchen, dining room, and living room. There is also a bathroom and the master bedroom, as well as the laundry room. The kitchen has corian countertops with plenty of elbow room for multiple chefs in the kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked with vintage English dishes, cookware, wine glasses, a coffee maker and grinder, crock pots and casserole dishes, a french press, spices, common pantry essentials and condiments, a hot air popcorn maker, microwave, dishwasher, oven, and a waffle iron. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa mix, butter, and syrup is provided. The living room has an efficient mahogany ceramic pellet stove to maintain the cozy and romantic ambiance during the fall and winter months, several comfortable couches and chairs, and a large TV with an Amazon FireStick to access your online Hulu, Amazon, or Netflix entertainment. The bathroom has a detached powder room with a cast iron deep soaking tub, which is accessible through the master bedroom. Nice linens, quilts and simple toiletries are provided. Hair dryers are provided. There is a laundry room with a new washer, dryer, laundry supplies, and ironing board off the kitchen.

Master Bedroom

Anointed with a comfortable Tempurpedic queen size four poster bed and matching cherry bedroom set, organic cotton sheets and a lovely 100 year old tufted red velvet rocking chair that is stuffed with horse hair. Master walk-in closet and access to the soaking tub and bathroom.

Sun Room

Located just off the laundry room, this quaint little porch is the perfect place to have a few minutes of quiet as you relax on vintage comfortable furniture. Overlooking the back property, this is room provides a nice refuge to read, visit, or meditate with a cup of tea in the morning.

Second Story

Upstairs, there are three large bedrooms and a full bathroom. All of the bedrooms have comfortable mattresses and bedding, night stands, and dressers. Two of the bedrooms each have a queen size bed, and the third bedroom has one twin and one full size bed. The third bedroom has a porta-crib, games, and children’s books. It also has a smaller TV with an Amazon FireStick. Each bedroom upstairs has a ceiling fan and a floor AC unit. The large bathroom has a double sink vanity, bathtub, and shower.

We do have WiFi, provide simple toiletries and high quality linens, bedding, and laundry supplies.

Unfortunately, we cannot allow any pets, smoking, or campfires of any kind inside the home or on the property.

We are located out in the country, just a five minute drive from the quaint small towns of Sublimity, Stayton, and Aumsville. The Santiam Golf Course and the location for the annual Sublimity Harvest Festival and the Santiam Stampede & Rodeo are a two minute drive away.

One of the most relaxing stays ever !!

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the most lovely stays that we have ever ! We were in Oregon for our sons wedding and this home was a much needed oasis in the crazy storm of wedding prep, the wedding day activities and clean up !! The lavender was in full bloom while we were there and it just added to the picture perfect stay. The home was immaculate, well appointed and easy to move around in with a large family. The kitchen was perfect for last minute as well as large family meals with plenty of room for everyone. Each bedroom was comfy with lovely bedding and individualized air conditioning in each room for optimal comfort. The porch was perfect for late evening conversations and the hammock was ideal for private moments away from everyone else. There was copious amounts of hot water for everyone's showers and the soaking tub was PERFECT after long stressful days of prep work. The house is only about 20 minutes outside of Salem, which was nice to get out the traffic each evening. Try to make time to go into Silverton. The town was cute as a button with plenty to see there. Silver Creek falls and rec park was a must see and the hike to the falls was just wonderful !!! I truly cannot say enough good things about the stay and I hope that as will have an opportunity to stay there again in the future. If you are looking for a place to stay while in this area of Oregon, you would be remiss to miss up on this opportunity !!!!

Good place for larger groups to stay.

  • 4 of 5

Nice country feel. Lots of new houses going in so looses some of it's getaway atmosphere, but still a nice place. Great place to enjoy bumblebees, so fun to watch.

My only issue we had was the grass in the backyard was nearly dead, so my daughter and niece had to wear shoes outside when playing. Not a huge deal but nice green grass would have been nicer.

I would recommend to anyone looking to have a gathering in a spacious country area, that is close to many things.

Owner's Response: We’re glad that enjoyed the place as we have loved it ourselves and it always makes us feel good to have others appreciate it. The bumble and honey bees are amazing to watch! We’re sorry the grass was not that green but we try to conserve water when it comes to the lawn. If you are out this way again, the grass is always naturally green in the fall, spring and earlier in the summer months. Luckily, the lavender are hearty plants and can thrive in this area without extra watering. We hope your girls enjoyed playing in the yard anyway as it always reminds us of sitting on the porch and listening to kids laughing and running around. Thanks Andrew and family- please come again!

Great place for a family!

  • 5 of 5

The house served as a home base for our family when we attended a wedding at Silver Falls State Park. It was well-equipped and comfortable. My grand-niece (hard to say that!) really enjoyed the kids toys which helped pass the time for her.

Thank you!

Charming with all the comforts of home.

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful home with country charm, set back from the road, it’s private and quiet. The property is calming with subtle scents of lavender all around. Groceries are available nearby and it’s easy access to Salem and Silverton. We visited with extended family for our daughter’s wedding. You can wake each morning to watch deer in the yard and grill dinner on the porch in the evening, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy each other’s company. There’s music and books and a tree swing. Wine tasting at Coria Estates was fantastic. We had a great stay and can’t wait to visit again. Thank you for your Aloha

Beautiful setting, beautiful house.

Your house is lovely. The decor is wonderful and comfortable. We spent much of our time on your porch. Private with great views of the grounds. We had daily deer visits. We enjoyed it immensely and plan on returning.

Charming vintage farm

  • 4 of 5

Perfect for our family with 4 bedrooms, one of which was set up for children, my children adored it! Huge kitchen and fully supplied home right down to indoor and outdoor games. Also in a peaceful, nice neighborhood. Being an older home the floor is extremely creaky so if you have sensitive sleepers bring ear plugs. We also struggled with the heating and air but I would still recommend this large, beautiful home!
