Stunning views, two bedrooms (2 queen and 1 king bed). Comfortable and luxurious
This home looks like any other home from the front, but once you walk inside you will be amazed. Gorgeous wood floors, vaulted ceilings and cathedral windows place you in the midst of 180* views from Mount St.Helens to Mt. Hood. There is a wrap-around deck to get even closer to the trees with an outside dining area so you can enjoy dining al fresco. Inside of the home you will find a fully equipped kitchen. We also supply a spice rack, condiments, coffee, tea, cream, drinks, fruit and snacks. The dining area and living room with a fireplace for cold evenings are in the main room with gorgeous views every time of year. You will have two large bedrooms; the peaceful periwinkle room with 2 queen beds and views of the trees, where you can choose to sleep on the cozy tempurpedic memory foam mattress or the comfortable Amerisleep mattress. We have a variety of pillows to choose from also ( memory foam, memory foam with gel, and regular soft pillows). We provide down comforters with duvet covers and extra blankets. In the king bedroom you will find a comfortable memory foam mattress. The king room also has a desk with a Herman Miller desk chair (super comfortable) and a smart tv with Roku. Each bedroom has its own ductless heating/air conditioning system, so you can get the temperature just the way you like it. The bathroom has a shower and a jacuzzi tub. We provide shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hair dryer, and any extras you might forget like razors or toothbrushes. Also you will have your own laundry room (we provide detergent etc) stored with games for the whole family. When it’s not raining, take the pathway on the right side of the house to sit and enjoy the garden patio. You are welcome to scavenge for blueberries and strawberries. Your home is on the main level, and is wheelchair accessible. This is a quiet neighborhood near the trails of Mt Tabor park where you can see the some of the best Portland sunsets, and in the summer, enjoy music in the park every Tuesday night.
You can also walk (10-15 minutes), or drive (3 minutes) to the nearby Montavilla neighborhood where you'll find the Montavilla farmer's market every Sunday, the iconic Academy theater, wonderful restaurants, and cafes. Montavilla was named one of the top 10 neighborhoods to see in the nation by the Lonely Planet! On Belmont and 69th (a short walk through the pretty residential streets) you will find Coquine, a wonderful farm to table neighborhood cafe, and Mandala Yoga, which offers a great assortment of classes.
This is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Portland, because you are in a beautiful park (and volcano) yet central to all the excitement that the city has to offer. Your host family lives in a sun basement unit on the property and will be pleased to assist you with any issues or questions when you are here. We love hosting and want to make sure our guests are happy and comfortable.

About Jill Powell
Hey there, I'm Jill! My good friend Katherine and I are having a great time cohosting this home. I love traveling, and feel fortunate to have had opportunities to live in many different countries. I enjoy being a mom, learning languages, playing with animals and kids, theater, painting portraits, gardening, getting lost in the woods, reading good books and just hanging out with friends. Katherine, my cohost, who lives on the property is a doula, studied dance in college and is one of the kindest people I know. We are both moms, our oldest kids met 11 years ago when they were in preschool and are still best buddies. We enjoy meeting people and making this home special for guests is a big priority for us.
Jill Powell purchased this House in 2016
Why Jill Powell chose Mount Tabor
This property was passed down to me from my mom who lived here since 2012. It is a special place and we are on a mission to keep the home filled with love and beauty. When I garden and nurture this home for guests I feel like I am nurturing part of my mom's creative spirit, and when guests enjoy the space I feel like part of her is being appreciated. I guess it's kind of like therapy.
What makes this House unique
The feeling of peace while sitting on the deck over the trees. If you get up early enough you will see breathtaking sunrises off of the deck. Birdwatching. Watching the sky and trees from the windows in every season is like having live, changing works of art just for you. The openness of the main room and the fireplace. Being so close to the trails in Mount Tabor and also just minutes away from city life.

Cozy, with a view!
This well-located Mount Tabor home is absolutely wonderful! Jill has thought of everything, from welcoming treats to cozy blankets. I can't wait for my next visit to this comfortable get-away retreat.
I loved the location, the space, and the sweet, generous hostess.
Thank you for being the best guests ever and our first VRBO guests!
