From this 1st floor apartment, you get amazing sunset views from the porch. Both bedrooms are identical in size and are air conditioned. One bedroom has a double bed, and the other bedroom has two single beds. The living room, dining room and kitchen are open plan and face on to the porch that runs the length of the cottage. There is a flight of stairs from the driveway that leads up to this little piece of heaven. This apartment can accommodate 2 additional guests on folding beds in the living room. It can be rented separately or as one unit with the apartment below. This apartment is ideal for 2 couples or a family.
Perched on a hill in a serene, safe and tranquil setting , and close to the beach and sea, Paradise lodge offers an experience which epitomizes true island living. Set in a quiet and secure residential neighbourhood between St. Lawrence Gap, the entertainment hub of the island and the popular fishing village of Oistins where they hold the famous Friday Night Fish Fry, Paradise Lodge is truly a cozy little nest.
It is just is a short 7 minute walk to the beach and Oistins village where you can find fresh fish, a supermarket, bank , gym Laundromat and restaurants..St Lawrence Gap is about a 5 minute drive away, where you can also find a variety of restaurants and bars. The popular Miami/Enterprise beach is just down the road – a 15 minute stroll. The main south coast road, which is a short walk from the house, gives easy access to public transport. The parish of Christchurch where we are situated has an almost continuous shoreline of magnificent beaches-all accessible within a short car ride.
Both of our apartments are equipped with wireless internet and multi channel TV. Guests are asked to refrain from smoking inside the apartments.
Our sister property is Almond Suites. Located about 1 mile away, this residential property in a more rural setting contains 2 adjacent one bedroom apartments nestled in gorgeous gardens with a pool right next to a golf course. I run a small property management company called BG Property Services. I am in charge of this property as well as other tourist oriented family owned apartment units
Alexis Blades-Graham purchased this apartment in 2013
A safe and friendly family owned and operated property- quiet and tranquil ambience by pool- casual and spacious apartments – great sunset views from 1st floor apartment.
Communication from the outset was excellent with Alexis, she helped us choose between her different properties, sent us extra photos and arranged our first grocery shop (at our request as we arrived during a 2day public holiday). The directions to the house were spot on and we arrived and settled in smoothly (around 15mins from airport). We used Beepcab as our taxi service, which is like a Bajan Uber - highly recommend.
The flat is represented well by the photos, in fact a little bigger in real life we think, yes perhaps a little worn in a couple of places but it in no effects your experience. It's a beautiful apartment which has all the kitchen elements you require for self-catering, full working oven, microwave, excellent fridge and freezer. We would advise that you bring some basic store cupboard food items with you if you have space in your suitcase and intend to cook in a few times (pasta, rice, salt, pepper those sort of things), Barbados is quite pricey for the essentials and you'll pay 2-6x more than the UK for some groceries.
The pool is wonderful and gives a great view down to the ocean, as it is set within lush gardens some leaves fall down each day but they are easy to collect. You share with the flat above but there is room for everyone.
The nearest beach is a 5min walk away, Welches and Maxwell, both lovely and we swam there most days. Miami is 20min walk away and very calm and swim friendly.
The nearest supermarket is 10min walk away, Massey Stores, you'll get it all here including Banks beers and Rum (cheapest things comparatively to buy BTW!!).
Oistens is a 10-15min walk away and we went down to eat on several occasions, it is open all nights but it is the Friday and Saturday when it gets really busy and all restaurants are open.
St Lawrence Gap a 5min drive away, we caught the little mini-buses that go from the end of the road (5min walk) one every minute or so. It costs 2-Bajan each no matter how far you go, the number 11 goes from Oistens up to Bridgetown and back, just flag, jump in and pay as you get out (press button near roof inside to alight)
if we return to Barbados we would 100% stay here again, everything was so smooth and laid-back.
We had not been to Barbados for about 20 years, and having had children we decided we wanted the flexibility of a villa holiday and we were delighted with our choice of the Paradise Lodge. I was a little bit concerned about paying a large deposit in advance, but don't let it put you off. The owner is a lovely lady called Alexis, and she could not have been more helpful, from answering questions before we booked to arranging a fabulous transfer to the airport going home. The villa is situated about 20 minutes from the airport, on a hill just off the main road on the outskirts of Oistins. We stayed in the upstairs 2 bedroomed apartment and it really is a beautiful holiday home with high ceilings & white interiors. It had all the facilities we needed, not least the wifi & pool which were the kids' main priorities. All the appliances you would expect are included, plus some nice extras like a toasted sandwich maker, cocktail blender, and separate laundry room with washer & dryer. The bedrooms have aircon but the living area does not, although there are ceiling fans and additional free standing fans supplied so it wasn't a problem. There is even a small charcoal barbeque which we used to great effect, cooking by the pool & eating outside on the verandah. The pool and surrounding loungers were fantastic. We spent the first 2 days acclimatising by the pool, and after that the kids were in it first thing most mornings, but possibly the best bit was slipping in to cool off in the evening after a full day enjoying the many beaches and attractions of Barbados. The villa is a 10-15 minute walk from the center of Oistins where you can find a supermarket, garage, Chefette , KFC, and the many outdoor restaurants & bars associated with the fabulous Friday night fishfry. Some of the barbeque restaurants are open every night for alfresco or takeaway dining. I'm not usually a fish lover, but even I was impressed by their fish, and portions were huge. If you walk 2 minutes up the road behind the post office you will find the beautiful Miami beach and Mr Delicious beach café. The villa is run by Alexis and she could not have been nicer or more accommodating. She was waiting at the property to meet us when we arrived and she had bought us essential groceries we had asked for because the supermarket shuts at 8pm. She supplied us with a mobile phone and even arranged our airport transfers. We would book here again. Highly recommended
This place was dusty, very hot and the toilets smelt. Tiles fell off the wall whilst my friend was using the shower. We were supposed to stay here for 2 weeks but found much better, larger accommodation for the same price for our second week as we could not bear staying for 2 weeks. The photos in the ad must be very old.The drier is locked so you can't use it and the washing machine is rusty. The aircon only works when someone is on the room and they have to be moving around for it to stay on so sleeping in that heat was very uncomfortable. The house was dark and depressing and the worse accomodation I have ever booked in Barbados. The rooms are very small and tight and the living too room has old and dated furniture. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We found a nice 3 bed villa with pool, free use of a drier and air con and a dishwasher for the same price. The first week of our holiday was spoilt due to being here. There were no clean linen for us to change the beds as the maid didn't visit as we only stayed a week. I feel cheated by the photos on here.
We droped in that lovely 2 bedroomapartment in August 2015 with 4 persons. The Apt. Is located on a slightly hill (it is not really a hill) in a secure and quite area with lovely local neighbours and between the Spots Oistins (fishfry on fridays) and the St.Lawrence Gap. With a short and slackening 15 min. walk you reach oistins where u can find a Supermarket (if you have a lot of goods just use the supermarket Shuttle Service) , Bank, Souvenirshops,Bars and the legendary Fishfry. To a lovely beach is a 10 min. walk, but we took the road Taxis for 1 US$ to brownesbeach, accrabeach, sandybeach....! But back to the Apt.the Living- and diningroom room is full equipped with a Sofa, flat tv, radio, wifi, chairs, tables and fans and has an open kitchen.you don't need an AC in that part of the apartment. Open all Windows and enjoy the seabreeze. belive....it's even much better than the cold AC.the kitchen has all you need for preparing breakfast, lunch or dinner. A big fridge, oven, microwave and a Hamilton Beach Mixer is also part of it. But try the local food on the Island.
The patio is large, has 4 chairs and a table and from it you have an amazing view to the ocean.it also has 2 relaxing chairs.
The 2 bedrooms have AC and from the masterbedroom you have direct access to the pool. use it after a long day at the beach or a sightseeing tour.it's so pretty nice and the sunbeds and the gardenplants will help you to enjoy the pooltime.
A prepaid phone is provided. Just charge some $ on it and call cabs, reserve your table in restaurants or call Alexis in case there is an issue.
The Apt. is clean, in good condition and once a week Juliet change the towels, and the bedclothes and clean up the apt.
I will book the apartment again when i will come back to paradise. I recommend the ap.
We love, love, loved it here. First of all, Alexis is wonderful to deal with. The property is clean, bright and roomy so that covers your needs. Now let's talk the important stuff: you have a pool! A beautiful, warm pool with gorgeous landscaping and a great view. The location is fantastic...walk to town if all involved want to drink without driving home. Stay in this quiet residential neighborhood and pretend you live here. It's all good.
My partner Darren and I have just had two weeks in the 2 bed Villa and I can’t praise it enough, it’s bright, clean, rustic and the multi aspect windows are perfect for admiring the views as soon as you get up in a morning and leave the bedrooms.
The position on the hill is perfect really as you are only a few minutes walk from the beach front road but high enough to have a gorgeous panoramic view of the sea and the villa and flower strewn hillside. It’s also brilliantly close for Oistins and the fish fry etc. St Lawrence Gap is walking distance for those that like to get about – we managed it with my broken legged partner alternating between crutches and a wheelchair.
It’s very peaceful and quiet and we slept well from night 1, there is plenty of wildlife I including Lizards and Hummingbirds and some very friendly little birds and a Dove that like to sit on the terrace with you and eat plaintain chips or peanuts – it’s like having pets away from home.
The double bed was comfy, the villa is really well equipped and theres lots of tv channels to chill in front of when the heat of the sun gets too much on the terrace.
There is of course the wonderful pool area at the back which also has some view of the sea, the pool is lovely and is surrounded by more garden, greenery and flowers – a real little utopia.
Juliet the Housekeeper is a lovely lady as is Alexis who along with her family own this beautiful villa. You are in very trustworthy and helpful hands when you rent this villa and we look forward to renting this villa sometime in the future when we decide to escape British winter for the shores of Barbados again.
