Thomas Wolfe was wrong
You CAN go home again -- and this charming, comfortable, clean and convenient shotgun house made my husband and me feel we'd done just that. Our host was welcoming and full of tips about the neighborhood (we lived in the adjacent Vieux Carre once upon a time), and couldn't have been more accommodating. We'll go back -- again!
Thank you, Sharon, for your wonderful review. It was a wonderful 91st birthday you planned for Gerald (a WW!! veteran) and I am glad to have been a small part of it. it was real pleasure meeting you both and I look forward to your coming back again. Scott
Great location and great place to stay!
We loved the location and the space! Scott the owner was wonderful and helped us with anything we asked. Will definitely recommend and hope to stay there again!
Thank you, Sarah. Looking forward to your next visit.
Quiet Stay Near the Action in New Orleans!
Scott has a great little shotgun house right on Elysian that is mere blocks from Frenchmen action, and walkable to all that is the French Quarter! We loved our stay! Be prepared for a smaller place, much as you would expect in a vintage residence in N.O. As well, be ready to navigate the quirks of an older home--water takes longer to heat up, etc. But, do yourself a favor--use this spot as your Launchpad for great times in a great city!
Thank you for your wonderful review. The cottage was built between 1820 and 1840 so (like many New Orleans buildings) was over a half century old before indoor plumbing was a concept. Consequently, hot water tanks are frequently located outside and water lines are longer to the sinks & showers. One of the quirks of living in New Orleans is that we rarely get in a hurry! So glad you had a fun visit to New Orleans; I hope you'll return in the near future. Scott
Great place to stay.
Scott gave us some good advice on where to go in New Orleans. This place was nice , clean and close to all the places we wanted to see. We will definitely stay here again!
Thank you for staying at Aaron Ingram Haus; so glad you enjoyed your stay. Looking forward to your next visit to the Big Easy!
