Why Emily chose New Bern
We love this location and views. It is relaxing, but not isolated. We love the birds and the gift of the river. The town of New Bern has a rich history with lots of small town amenities: sports, restuarants, community theater, antiques, and the arts.
What makes this House unique
The views of the Neuse River from the sun room are wonderful.

This was perfect for our technicians, easy access to the medical facility and not having to cram in several hotels was great. We will stay here again if we are back in the area.
Thank you Emily for all your help!
A great family escape
Our 3 generational family of 13 stayed at the Fort Point House for 4th of July weekend. The house was extremely clean and well stocked for meal prep and serving for large numbers, with plenty of extra table seating. Best of all was the water access for kayaking, paddleboarding, etc. We hope to come back someday. The owners were not there at the time, but responded immediately to any questions or issues, and were extremely informative prior to our arrival. Thank you Paul and Emily.
Just got back from a family reunion at Fort Point River House over Memorial Day. The house and location were perfect. We had 15 people and everyone fit comfortably. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked making it easy to cook for a large crowd. We really enjoyed the canoe and kayaks and the small pool was perfect for the kids. I've rented a lot of different houses through VRBO and this was one of the nicer ones I've found. The owners do a great job of making sure you have everything you could. We're already talking about coming back again next year.
We loved it!
Fourteen of us stayed here for my son's graduation from ECU. The house was perfect for us and had everything we needed. The view was gorgeous, the kitchen well-stocked, the sun porch was amazing, and we enjoyed the hot tub and the canoe. Everything was clean and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Not far from downtown New Bern, which we also loved. Thanks for offering such a great property on VRBO!
Nice view but mediocre home
Master bed not made. Abundance of cobwebs throughout inside of home especially hanging from ceiling above the stove...yuck. When going barefoot indoors feet quickly became black from dirty floors. Point room bed was 2 twins put together by bungle cords and mattress was uncomfortable. Backyard is deceiving on pictures as there is a sharp drop to the water. Hand railing is required by int'l bldg code on decks. Was told on phone home was handicap accessible but it was not.
I apologize for a communication flaw regarding making up of the master bed. That was truly an error.
Our guest instructions clearly state that the home is on a bluff.
I cannot verify or dispute what was said in a telephone conversation. I recall a potential renter inquiring about how many steps to the front porch and I actually counted them. But I don't recall if that was this renter. And while there are bedrooms and bathrooms on the first floor I certainly don't advertise it as accessible.
Regarding the general cleaning, I really had to look hard to find the cobwebs above the stove. I consider our current cleaner very good, but it obviously didn't meet a "white glove" test.
And our contractor for the deck had to have the construction inspected before he could fill the pool with water. So I would have to assume it met Craven County code at the time it was constructed.
Rental is located in a residential neighborhood overlooking the Neuse River in New Bern, NC. Many of our guests visit the famous Tyron Palace and the History Museum. Year round Farmers Market every Saturday morning featuring local produce and crafts.
