Small one bedroom cabin located in Cartoogechaye area 6 miles West of Franklin, NC. Very secluded Cabin with wrap around screened porch over looking fast moving creek on property. This cabin is very close to the Appalachian trail and Standing Indian Camp Ground, and Wayah Bald mountain. Located in a hidden valley at the foot of the mountain that borders Nantahala National Forest. This property has a large stream that comes down from the mountain and runs right by the wrap around porch. You can hear the stream running in the house. Go ahead and take your shoes off and search for gem stones in the creek, or just cool of in the ice cold water. If you are looking for peace and quite and rest and relaxation, this place is for you. All hardwood floors, breakfast bar, fold out futon, Gas Fireplace and gas stove. Refrigerator with ice maker. The well water is some of the best deep well water you will ever taste. Coffee maker and microwave. This one bedroom has a queen size bed and a full size futon in living room. Could sleep two in the bedroom and 1 on futon. Flowers and plants adorn this property everywhere. Paved road all the way. Nice and cool on this side of the mountain. Very private, only a few neighbors and they are all nice folks. Convenient to Cherokee NC (35mins) and Murphy NC (40 mins).
Loved staying here. It was clean, comfortable and secluded. The screened in porch and the creek were fantastic. The creek was so loud you could here it with the windows shut, it was so calming. There was a bench next to the creek, we enjoyed having our morning coffee there. The bench needs to be replaced because it looked weak, but we made it work. The host was attentive and was quick to respond to questions. If we return back to Franklin, we would definitely stay here again!
