Great winter get away!

  • 5 of 5

We are from Florida and wanted to experience snow and skiing. This NC cabin is the perfect location for a winter vacation. We spent the first week of the new year at Pigeon River Cabin and enjoyed every second. The cabin is so clean and we stayed warm inside despite the sub 20 degree weather. We experienced a beautiful snowfall the first morning. The location was perfect for us and only about 25 mins from Maggie Valley and the ski resort. We had no problems while we were there. We can’t wait to come back. Such great memories for my family and kids.

Peaceful, Relaxing Getaway with a Beautiful View

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at the Pigeon River Cabin! It feels as though you are in the middle of nowhere, although you are only 10 - 15 minutes away from groceries. Since it is less than 5 minutes away from I-40 and less than 15 minutes away from the Smoky Mtn Expressway, you can travel quickly to nearly all the destinations you might want to visit in Western North Carolina (and we did)! The hospitality was great - there was a basket of candy and assortment of coffee awaiting our arrival! We had questions regarding how to operate the gas fire pit that were quickly answered with a cell phone conversation (while Steve and his wife were on vacation). The outdoor hot tub is a nice addition to relax at the end of the day after exploring the countryside. We spent one day simply exploring the property and playing in the creek that runs through the meadow just down the hill from the cabin. The view from the kitchen window is marvelous in the mornings as you watch the sun rise and shine on the mountains across the valley. We really enjoyed our stay - Thank you!!

So Comfortable AND Beautifully Decorated!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautifully decorated, immaculate, and feels like you are at home, not in a rental. The serenity and the views made the climb up a rather steep driveway very worthwhile for us flatlanders. It is a convenient location near I-40 to enjoy western North Carolina. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions.

Relaxing atmosphere - beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is beautiful. We had a nice relaxing time here. The view from the deck is peaceful and relaxing. The cabin is close to everything but out of the main stream of things. Stephen was very responsive. He replied to my texts quickly. We had everything we needed and more.

The best in the area and elsewhere.

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 delightful days at the Pigeon River Cabin. The house was beautifully furnished, with every imaginable item, the deck provided a beautiful view, unfortunately the weather was too warm for us to use the fire pit on the deck. Access once we went of the lunch at the fork in the road was great. The owners were available however we never needed to contact them. The exterior was great and the landscaping provided the environment we were looking for. The bed and linens were fantastic. Having stayed at over 6 different cabins in the Maggie Valley area, this was undoubtedly the finest. There was a nice note from the owners as well as a treat basket. When we return to the area it definitely will be the Pigeon River Cabin.

Warm and welcoming!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I want to thank the Woods for our recent stay in their Pigeon River Cabin. The home was warm and welcoming and is located within close distance to all of the local activities (Blue Ridge PKWY, hiking & Downtown Asheville) that we enjoy in WNC.

The home is brand new and has been very tastefully decorated....think HGTV rustic modern. While we did not have any issues or concerns during our stay the owners made it clear they

were available at anytime should a need arise. They had a goody basket with various snacks, local events listing and a few toys for our 20-mth old son. Thank you, he loved the glow stick flag and bubbles!

We loved the home, the warm welcome and plan to visit again soon!

Owner's Response: Brooke B and her family were ideal guests! They took very good care of our cabin, and were extremely easy to work with. They gave us helpful tips, as we are new and requested their input. We would definitely recommend this family to other owners!

Haywood County encompasses downtown Waynesville which has great restaurant options, an old-time feeling Main Street with lots of shops and various artisans' galleries. Maggie Valley has winter skiing, summer horseback riding, a world-class motorcycle museum, Wheels Thru Time, and fun shops. We have four entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hiking and views abound there, as well as at the Great Smoky Nat'l Park. Here the elk herd can be seen and there are great hiking trails.

The Cherokee Nation is about 30 minutes away, and Asheville is around 25 miles from us. In Asheville, guests can tour the Biltmore Estate, visit the Arboretum, shop outlet malls or eclectic Asheville shops.
