Quiet, spacious and close to everything! This home on the historic Greenbrae Boardwalk sits on a 620 acre salt marsh bird preserve and has unobstructed views of Mt. Tam and the San Francisco bay. The boardwalk runs along the south side Corte Madera Creek and sits between the towns of Larkspur and Greenbrae - making all amenities from both easily accessible. The Greenbrae Boardwalk is a hidden community that has been a gem of Marin for 110 years - many locals don't even know its here!
The heart of the house is a round great room that includes kitchen, living and dining areas. The Roundroom is 36’ in diameter and 18’ tall at the center. The kitchen has all stainless steel appliances and a large island with hardwood counters and stools for casual eating.
The house was remodeled in 2013 by owner/architect. All rooms were designed to take advantage of views, natural light, and to accentuate modernist design detailing. Both bathrooms have glass and wood panel walls, with teak and holly floors. The master bedroom has filmic views in three directions, an adjacent den, walk-in closet, and balcony.
There are large decks at the front and rear of the house, with native grasses and citrus in planters at the edges. The south facing deck has a teak dining table, deck chairs and gas BBQ for outside lounging.
The house was built by Albert Baez (singer Joan 's father), a physics professor, inventor and Quaker, who did much of his research and community work from the great room. Today, his creation affords a very comfortable place to work, live and dream. Hosts have upgraded the house with high speed internet, and mesh WiFi to allow seamless access from every room in the house. The office area has a printer for guest use.
