A rustic cabin on Fremont Lake with fireplace, deck, walk to the lake. Great location for mountain biking, sea kayaking, canoeing and taking hikes. Modern furnishings electric stove, fridge, dishwasher, bathroom includes toilet, shower and sink. Log pole bed. Deck has a view of the glacier fed Fremont Lake in the Wind River Mountains. Cabin has a loft upstairs with a queen bed. To sleep 4, a futon is in the living room. The views are incredible and you can watch the sunset over the lake. The night sky is incredible. The elevation is approximately 7800 feet. The stairway to the loft is circular and a bit narrow and steep. This is great place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, read a book and sip a glass of vino on the deck watching the sunset over the lake. You can be active or you can just chill. No internet service except via cell service which is spotty at the cabin. Internet service is available in town at numerous locations for wi-fi including the public library. A very romantic and picturesque setting. The bedroom is upstairs in the loft. A good place to read, write or even paint the view from the deck. If owner's schedule permits, a boat ride on Fremont Lake is possible. You can also rent a pontoon boat from Lakeside Lodge which is 4 miles away. I do want to note that this property is not toddler friendly due to a spiral stairway, decks, etc... please no kids. The cabin sleeps 4 .

Why Ward Wise chose Pinedale
This property has been in the family since 1958. Ward and Natalie have upgraded the property and enjoy spending time with the family at the cabin. The cabin is known as the "Bear Trap", due to the Grizzly Bear trap that is hanging from the beams in the living room. The trap was found after a forest fire by my Grandparents and Dad after a fire swept through the mountains near Fayette lake in the 1940's. The trap was taken to the Forest Service and no owner came forward, so they gave it back.
What makes this Cabin unique
A very rare location on Fremont lake due to the proximity with the lake and the views. There are trails and dirt roads to walk to get some exercise if desired, or walk down to the lake. The dirt road into the cabin is great mountain biking and the location is 20 minutes to the Elkhart Park trailhead for backpacking into the Wind River Mountains. White PIne ski resort has summer activities such as horse back riding, campfire cookouts, and mountain bike trails - 15 minutes away. The cabin is also very quiet and a great place to just relax, read a book, and spend quality time without distractions.

The place to chill in the Winds.
Great spot, great host, with as much or as little activity as you desire only a hike away.
Peaceful cabin with a great view
My husband and I really enjoyed our time at this property. We felt like the only people on the mountain. The cabin is comfortable and met our needs perfectly. We would sit on the couch at night and count the stars from the huge windows facing the lake. Wade was a great host and made the stay easy. We had fire restrictions while we were there due to the high fire danger and we were not able to use the fireplace, but honestly, it didn't matter. The baseboard heaters worked great to keep the place cozy. The kitchen had everything we needed to make a great meal. It is close enough to town that a trip to the store is not a big deal if you have forgotten something. It's far enough from town that you really do get away from it all. Be careful on the stairs! Even with being extremely careful, I managed to slip and fall down them. Nothing but a few bruises, however, when Wade says NO KIDS due to them, it is for good reason!
Overall, I would give this cabin and double thumbs up and we can't wait to come up again next year!! Thank you Wade and Natalie for sharing your cabin with us!
Tom and Kat Askee
This cabin is a real gem! It is secluded with amazing views of Fremont Lake from inside the house and out on the deck. You will need a high-clearance vehicle to get to it. Ward, the owner, was super-friendly and drove us to the cabin as we wouldn't have been able to find it ourselves. Our stay there was perfect.
Beautiful cabin in gorgeous setting. Loved it!
We had an amazing time fishing and hiking the Wind River mountains. The cabin was the perfect place to relax after the adventurous days. Ward provided local expertise and was extremely hospitable and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Thank you very much and we enjoyed having you. We have some of the best fishing there is with the headwaters of the Green River and the mighty New Fork rivers. Come back and see us...!
The perfect getaway spot!
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our stay in the cabin. The place was clean, the matress was very comfortable, and the view was breathtaking.
This is a perfect cabin for a getaway for a couple or a small family. It is very clean and organized. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything needed to make a meal. It had
beautiful wood floors. Ward was very nice and even met me at the local grocery store so I could follow him to the cabin! There is easy access to the lake. Overall a great, peaceful experience. I would highly recommend this cabin.
Pinedale Wyoming, (pop. 2500), is an outdoor recreation paradise. The town has a 9 hole golf course with views of the Wind River Mountains, mountain bike trails at White Pine Ski Area, Pinedale Aquatic Center, cycling on the paved roads, windsurfing on Fremont Lake, sea kayaking, snorkeling, - just bring your own gear. The location is also ideal for just relaxing and getting away from it all.
