Year Purchased: 1988
About the owner: Philip and Derek own a specialist travel business. This is our home in Scotland where we spend at least one month per year and holiday let the house the rest of the year. Philip grew up a Yorkshire farmer and Derek is from Carlisle.
Why the Owner Chose Fort William, Highland, UK:
Philip first saw this house in April 1988 and fell in love with the spectacular location and this beautiful Scottish house. He immediately bought it and has since spent many happy times with family and friends in this magnificent house. We have renovated the house twice since 1988 and re-landscaped the grounds in 2013.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
It is spacious, warm and comfortable. Even if there are 14 of you, it doesn't feel crowded. Some folks sit in the conservatory, some play pool, some hang out in the kitchen and others watch the 42 inch flat screen TV in the lounge. We all get together for meals around the dining table. We have had many parties here:- just move one settee from the lounge to the hall, roll back the rug and you have room for Scottish Country dancing. Oh the Gay Gordons! What a Highland Fling!
