Look no further, you have found the perfect 1 bedroom mountain getaway cabin. The Driftwood is a beautiful rustic A frame cabin on a gorgeous riverfront setting, with a private hot tub, wood burning fireplace and all the modern conveniences. Only an hour from both Atlanta and Chattanooga, but a million miles from the rush of city life. You may want to start your get away before you even get in the front door. Take in the scene and relax on the rocking chair front porch overlooking the river, or set up the hammock, kick back and listen to the water go by. Once inside you are greeted with the charm that is Driftwood. The simple living area has a sleeper sofa facing a wood burning fireplace and a flat screen TV with DVD player. (Cable and WIFI as well) Cell service isn’t great, there is a land line at the cabin. Around the corner is the kitchen with stainless appliances and a table with seating for four. The full bathroom with a tub/shower combo round out the main level. Upstairs in the loft is a king size bed (flat screen and DVD player as well) overlooking the cozy living room beneath. (The stairs to the loft are steeper than a normal stairwell, be advised if mobility is an issue) Central heating and air plus ceiling fans to keep you comfortable. Outside is where Driftwood really picks up its character. Full size hot tub, gas grill with a spare tank, fire pit and horseshoes all on an acre of beautiful tree filled mountain land with 200 feet of river frontage. Easy access to the river for great fishing, tubing, canoe and kayaking or just wading in the cool water. Bring some tubes, put in upstream and float back home, it takes about 20 minutes. Dog friendly; make sure you pack their favorite ball for hours of playtime. (They deserve a vacation too!) Conveniently located halfway between Ellijay and Jasper, a few miles from Carters Lake and just off the four lane highway, no steep hills in the way, easy to get to. Shopping and restaurants are just ten minutes away. Everything from waterfalls to wineries with day trips to Blue Ridge, Dahlonega, Amicalola Falls State Park, Ocoee whitewater rafting and miles of hiking and biking trails all right in your back yard.

Cozy river front cabin
We had a great stay in this cabin. The river is beautiful and fun to explore. We had no cell coverage but that was a plus for us! The grill worked great and yes the bedroom loft stairs are steep but do-able. You do have neighbors but we never actually saw them just heard cars once in awhile. We would stay here again!
The cabin was not clean at all.
Dirty ash tray on porch, very dusty, cob webs, dirty table cloths and rugs. The cabin needs some real deep cleaning. We loved the location, the river was awesome to swim in. Oh, don't plan on cooking a steak on the barbecue, doesn't have hot burners.
Loved being next to the river. Cute cabin
Very relaxing place.
Best get-away we've had!
My husband and I were looking for a tranquil place to get away and relax and this was truly the best choice we made! Even though there are a couple of other houses near this cabin, it was still as if we were all alone. The cabin is just a small bit away from a main road but we felt we were deep into the woods as we couldn't hear anything from the road at all. The sound of the creek was beautiful and relaxing. We put our river tubes into the water and it was like going down a lazy river! Then, with the river being shallow enough for my husband to walk it, he would pull us back to the cabin with ease. He fished in the pond and the creek every day and felt so relaxed. We drank our coffee on the swing at the river and were in awe the entire time we were here.
As the owner states in the description, the stairs to the loft are tricky but you just have to take your time and be in no rush to get up and down them. My husband and I were definitely up to the challenge. They were impossible for our dog to climb (small poodle) so be careful with letting a dog climb up and especially down them. But the owner is very clear about the loft stairs so just keep that in mind.
The inside of the cabin was beautifully decorated with a true cabin feel. We grilled each night and sat in the hot tub in the evening.
A GREAT place to visit during our stay was the Panorama Orchards and Farm Market in Ellijay where they have many homemade breads, fudge, and TONS of other stuff to choose from. Our GPS sent us over a long gravel road to get to the market but we learned that we could have gone around another way if we had stayed on the main road.
We hope to make this retreat a yearly (if not more often) place to vacation. LOVED IT!
Being on the river was great!! Loved listening to the sound of it while sitting on the porch. It was quite cozy I side. The only downfall was the cleaning people had to come in and clean again. There's no washer/dryer to wash clothes especially if you're there for a week you need to wash them. Otherwise our stay was nice. I would stay here again.
First cabin experience
Except for the steep steps to the bedroom, everything exceeded our expectations.
