Great stay

  • 5 of 5

Home is very cute and charming, with a great location next to stores, restaurants, parks, and trails. Everything was available, tidy and clean. The downstairs room is not heated, however, so it was too cold to use (it was in tihe 40's at night while we were there) but home is a great value and we would definitely stay again.

Wonderful location, cute house

  • 5 of 5

Old rustic home that is in pretty good shape. Great location and friendly owner. Comfy bed! Odor of cat was strong downstairs (I had a dog with me)... which is forgivable as all else was on point, exactly as described. I wish there was a window covering on the bathroom window though... otherwise I will absolutely stay again when in town. It was worth it!! Thank you, Jennifer!

Great house and owner

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house convenient to Redwood Shores and all of Silicon Valley. The bed is comfortable, the couch is super comfy, the Wedgewood stove is amazing, and Jen, the owner, is very responsive and accommodating. I have stayed here twice so far when I traveled to the area for work and will continue to do so.

Clean and very comfortable

  • 5 of 5

The home in Belmont was very clean and spacious for our family of four..

the furniture was comfortable and it was nice having two bathrooms.

Jen had the home stocked with essentials so we didn’t have to pack/ buy them ....

Jen was very helpful and was very prompt in getting back to us if we had questions.

I would definitely recommend this home!

Clean, spacious, great neighborhood, highway access and very dog friendly

  • 5 of 5

This was one of the best VRBO experiences we have ever had. Since our dog travels everywhere with us having a place that was dog friendly was a must and this host not only thought of our comfort but also our dogs comfort providing food bowls, doggy mattress and a kennel which our dog never uses and she was okay with that as well. The neighborhood is wonderful with a grocery store in walking distance, driveway and street parking, easy highway access and only 25 minutes or so to downtown san Francisco. The home is very spacious with a great open living space for everyone to hang out. The host is very responsive and absolutely lovely to talk to.

Thank you so much for this awesome stay, we will for sure be back another time.

Car: not necessary

We have an Enterprise (top choice) 605 Harbor Blvd or an Avis at 1501 El Camino which are both 3-4 blocks away. Much better rates close to the house vs. the airport location.

The house is about 6 blocks from the train station which takes you up to San Francisco by Giants Stadium. From there you can take the trolley or Bart to different parts of the city. Just keep in mind the train schedule home. The San Carlos Station, one further down the line, often has express trains and late-night options. If you head up to a Giants game, you'll want to come and go from San Carlos. At the end of the game they have an express train and the very first stop it makes in is San Carlos. Super fast vs driving and parking.

You can do day trips anywhere in the city without a car. Getting up and back using the train will add another hour or so on the front and back end of your day. If you rent a car, I can leave a map of the best route to take in a day or two to see all of the sights.

If you are planning an visiting the Redwoods and or the beach, you'll want a car for sure. I'd recommend driving over Hwy17 (slowly) to the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, for a quick mile walk amongst the Redwoods, then walk next door to Roaring Camp and take the old railway down to the Beach Board Walk. Family can play at the beach or go on rides. City has a shuttle that can take you downtown for better shopping and food for $00.25.

If Alcatraz in on your list, you should try and get a reservation now. I think the Blue and Gold fleet, sells just the boat ticket out there. Lots of other companies will try and sell you a tour. It's not needed. just a ticket on a boat is what you want. Everyone buys the self guided Walkman tour once in the prison.

I just picked out two twin bed that can be stacked into a bunk bed, so your kids will have a few options.

Sept/October is the best weather in San Francisco.

I will warn you that this house has no A/C and gets super hot on record breaking days. If it's hot, you'll not want to be back here until the night begins to cool the house. We do have extra fans.
