An architectural gem with a three-story wall of glass inspired by a boat sail! This beautiful, unique home has been in the family since the lake was created in the early 1970s. The home you see now was built on the foundation of the original lake house in 2003. Lots of special design details create a one-of-a-kind lake house experience. Five bedrooms with 3.5 baths and quite of bit extra space for air mattresses.
The house is nestled on a large, almost 1 acre lot with lots of trees and privacy, but also a wide open view of the lake. The "neighborhood" and cove are both very quiet, but also accessible. There is a large, sandy beach shared with our wonderful next door neighbors that is partially shaded throughout the whole day so you can enjoy the sun, or cool off in the shade! Please be respectful of our neighbor's use of their side of the beach. It's easy and comfortable to spend the whole day down on the beach! There is a also a boat dock with table, chairs, and umbrella, and a swim ladder on the end of the dock. The house has a screened-in porch on the main level, and an open lower porch, both of which have nice views of the water. There is a large grill on the lower patio, which is propane on one side and charcoal on the other so you can have it both ways! Just outside of the upper screened porch is a hot tub.
The main living area of the house is very open and light with portions that are up to 30ft high ceilings due to the unique design. The wall facing the lake is all glass, three stories tall working up to a point that looks similar to the sail of a boat. There are sitting areas on all three levels that offer beautiful, relaxing views of the lake year round. The small landing up on the top level has a love seat and telescope for looking out over the lake. The two bedrooms on the main level also have the same high ceilings and large windows (but not a total wall of glass like the living area). The master bath has a large, custom tiled shower, and garden tub.
The custom stair case from the main living area to the second level is an absolute work or art. It consists of a steel spine, wood stair treads, glass, and stainless steel cables. A spiral stair case goes down from the main living area to the large basement level where there is another large living room, two more bedrooms and a full bathroom. There is access to the lower unscreened porch from the lower living room.
In front of the porches and below the big living room windows is a nicely manicured, flat zoysia grass lawn. Closer to the lake the yard transitions into a moss covered hill that gently slopes down toward the water. On one side there is a path to the dock, and on the other side there is a path down to the beach.
Plenty of parking! There is a long circular driveway around the front of the house and extra paved parking beside and behind the garage. Behind the garage the parking pad is two cars wide.
