For families that get their kicks from the great outdoors, or groups stopping by for the latest concert at Gorge Amphitheater, Talus Conexus offers inviting accommodations against a stunning backdrop of towering basalt cliffs.
Being connected is the name of the game here. Connected to nature: world-class climbing is minutes away at Olympic National Park. Connected to the city: we’re just two hours from Seattle, though you’d never guess it from our sunny weather. And connected to each other in inviting living spaces and warm outdoor gathering spots.
In fact, “Conexus” comes from the Latin for joined. We’ve named our home Talus Conexus because it unites two separate rentals—Talus Major and Talus Minor—but it also brings groups together for unforgettable adventures in the heart of a shimmering desert.
BED & BATH
Rally a group of 12 and spread out over two bedrooms and two living spaces.
Five guests can claim the huge upstairs bedroom in Talus Major, where you’ll find a queen-size-bed and twin-over-queen bunk, plus access to a large second-story deck for morning views. Downstairs, two can claim the full-size living room futon.
The rest of the group can crash in Talus Minor, where the bedroom boasts two queen-size beds and the couch can accommodate an extra guest.
Both sides have their own full bath with standing shower just off the living areas, and all linens are provided so you can spend less time setting up camp and more time exploring.
LIVING & DINING
With two living areas, you’ll have your pick of where to let loose. Gather the whole crew together, or let half the group flip on a movie in one area while the rest recounts the day’s adventures in the other.
Talus Major’s chill gathering space has a touch of rustic flair and a tall sliding door that lets in cliff views, plus a comfortable futon and TV. Talus Minor’s living space is just as inviting with two sofas and its own TV.
You’ll find fully appointed kitchens in both, plus a breakfast bar for 3 in Talus Major—the perfect spot for cracking a cold one or chatting with the chef. Each open-concept gathering space also has a bar-style dining table for four.
Sunland Estates is a one-of-a-kind community incorporated into the unique geography of central Washington. It occupies a small outcropping between the Columbia River and dramatic basalt cliffs that rise overhead.
Most Sunland Estates properties belong to Seattle residents who spend their summers here, and only a few homes are available as vacation rentals—our duplex among that rare few.
As a guest, you can enjoy HOA perks like an Olympic-sized swimming pool with kid-approved water features, plus a community-only riverfront park with play structures, tennis & volleyball courts and picnic tables. Grab sandwich fixings from our local general store and pack a lunch to enjoy on the banks of the Columbia between swimming, playing and sunning.
Back at home, a grassy lawn is great for yard games and a path leads right to the sandy river beach. Want to bring a boat? There's a two-boat launch at Sunland, too, that you're free to use.
