Overview

About the property

Beach House at Eglington Cove. Charming, tastefully decorated, comfortable three bedroom reproduction farm house located down at the shore below our 14 acre field. Enjoy privacy, peace and quiet in one of the island's most spectacular spots. Perfect for families, couples, and groups of friends. Have a bonfire on the owner's private beach - warm water swimming across the channel at the Back Beach.

Open concept vaulted great room with tall glass windows on the ocean side with a roomy dining area, and fully equipped kitchen. First floor master bedroom with king size bed has access directly onto the 34 foot deck. Upstairs bedrooms each with full twin beds which can be configured as kings.

Enjoy stunning sunrises and sunset, sweeping water views overlooking Abell's Cape, Eglington Cove and Rollo Bay and the North Cumberland Strait.

Watch lobster boats and the Magdalen Island ferry come and go. Walk a few steps down to the beach for a bonfire and star gazing, or choose other red sand beaches minutes away for warm water swimming.

Nearby is famed Canadian TV Chief Michael Smith's Inn at Bay Fortune for a special dining experience, and the Inn at Spry Point Wine Bar for a fun evening as well as other local seafood eateries. Or you may purchase your own fresh lobsters, clams and oysters locally and have a feast of your own making.

Explore the Bay Fortune area - great for walks, running, biking, clam digging, kayaking, bird watching, and exploring the shores and much more. Golf and Deep Sea fishing are within 20 to 35 minutes. Or take in the local music scene - perhaps a "Ceilidh" performance to hear some island fiddle playing.

Some favorite spots - Basin Head for swimming - a spot great for children and East Point Lighthouse 20-25 minutes away, the National Seashore Park about 40-45 minutes. Charlottetown is a 45 minute drive. All within a 10-15 minute drive are restaurants, coffee shops, liquor store, bank/ATM, supermarkets, PEI visitor center, post office, pharmacy, churches, gas stations, seafood shop, and more.

About Diana

Our family fell in love with Prince Edward Island and its people many years ago and knew it was the perfect location to spend family vacations - and that is was a safe peaceful environment for our children to experience all sorts of summer fun. So we acquired a farm field and built our architect designed beach house which has become our "Field of Dreams" home where summer magic happens and lifetime memories are made. The island is a great place for warm water swimming, walking the long stretches of unspoiled uncrowded beaches, bonfires, getting to know friendly islanders, golfing, playing bocce or crochet on the lawn, watching eagles fly overhead, gazing at an amazingly night sky able with stars, reading on the deck, going out on a lobster boat, cooking lobster, climbing the great dunes of Greenwich Park, seeing North Lake tuna fisherman return with a catch, biking the Heritage Trail and much more. Or just being, relaxing, winding down, in our charming "Nantucket styled beach house.
