About James Boyle

My wife, Amy and I purchased the house in 2003, just two months before the birth of our first child. Our first renter was my mom, Helen, who lived in the house several years while I renovated it literally around her!

Since then the property has been rented out month to month for many years, but Amy and I have dedicated the last two months into giving it a facelift and we are renting it out on VRBO for the first time.

The home was perfect for our needs. Very clean and well supplied. Nice little house in a nice little neighborhood. Owner Jim was so accommodating and easy to communicate with.

We stayed at this property for a week recently and it was a good experience overall.

  • 4 of 5

The pros for this house are that you can bring your dogs along which was awesome for us since we stayed over the Christmas holidays. The backyard was tiny but fully fenced so the dogs could go out safely. We also enjoyed the cable tv and the cute neighborhood. We walked to a few places nearby for coffee in the morning. It felt safe and the people were very friendly.

The biggest con was parking! In eight days, we never found a spot right by the house. The driveway is for people in the back. A few times we had to leave our vehicle several streets away--especially coming home in the evenings. The house itself was cute but a few updates could be done in the bathroom and kitchen. There was no central heat which really wasn't a huge issue since SD is fairly warm even in the winter. Used space heaters at night/mornings to take the chill off.

Overall, James was easy to communicate with and our stay was comfortable. Great price too!

We had a great stay in Normal Heights

During our stay we were not in the house much but when we were it was just what we needed. The property was as described and we made good use of the patio and grill! I would definitely stay here again.

Sødt lille hus, med dejlig lille have.

  • 4 of 5
