GRANDPA'S CABIN is the perfect rental for your Yellowstone Vacation cabin. Location matters and we are conveniently located in Island Park, Idaho just 30 miles to the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park, 90 minutes away to Grand Teton National Park, 10 minutes from Herriman State Park, Idaho and a short walk from Henry's Fork of the Snake River.

GRANDPA'S CABIN, a private family owned cabin is located close enough to be convenient and far enough away to find peace and quiet. We are located on a dead end Lane on over an acre and bordered by the Targhee National Forest.

Enjoy some time in the rocking chairs on the front porch or enjoy S'mores as you unwind at the firepit. Enjoy the beauty of the outdoors in our large grassy yard with picnic tables and lawn chairs in the middle of a grove of pine and fir trees. The property borders the Targhee National Forest and wildlife such as deer, moose, elk, swans, osprey and fox are often spotted.

GRANDPA'S CABIN has three separate sleeping areas. The master bedroom with a queen pillowtop bed is located on the main floor. The upstairs large room has two queen memory foam beds and the other upstairs bedroom has a pillowtop queen bed. All bedrooms have dressers, nightstands, lamps, and alarm clocks. All beds have handcrafted custom quilts.

Grandpa's Cabin has a full bath with tub/shower combination located on the main floor. There is an additional half bath on the second floor. All bed and bath linens are provided as well as extra pillows and quilts.

GRANDPA'S kitchen is fully equipped with all cooking utensils and most commonly used small appliances. There is complete dinnerware, glassware and silverware service. There is a refrigerator, solid surface range, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, gas barbecue grill, and full size washer and dryer. The dining room has an oversized table, just perfect for those family reunions or your Thanksgiving dinner!

GRANDPA'S living room has plenty of seating for everyone to be together with satellite television, and DVD. Spread out to play a game or work a puzzle!

GRANDPA'S CABIN is open year round. There are many attractions close by that include; Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Harriman State Park, and the world famous Henry's Fork of the Snake River, the Madison River and Buffalo River. There are many additional lakes, rivers and streams that are great for trout and or fly-fishing. There are many trails for hiking, biking, or ATV in warmer months and over 500 miles of groomed trails with more than twice that area in deep powder for the snowmobiling enthusiasts. There is horseback riding, wildlife viewing, all forms of boating and so much more.

GRANDPA'S CABIN is perfect for your family vacation. It is wonderful spot to create memories of a special Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Family Reunion.

While the cabin will sleep a maximum of 14 people, we do have to charge a one time additional $10 per person over 8 for the additional housekeeping time and laundry.

Very homey and large

  • 4 of 5

Cindy (owner) was very helpful answering questions before the trip. Easy to find cabin during the day (harder at night) as youtube driving directions very accurate and helpful. Easy access to western entry to Yellowstone. Would recommend it to others. Made our visit very delightful.

So fun!

  • 5 of 5

It was awesome. Didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin since there is just so much to do but the time spent was amazing. Beautiful property with a large grassy area and picnic tables in the trees. Will be back soon!

Lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

The property was very nice and kid friendly. Lots of room for our two families, plus a wide collection of toys for the kids to play with. The roof leaked the first night we were there after a bad rain storm with hail. We called Cindy and Reed to let them know. They returned our call and sent the roofers out the very next morning to see what was going on. Great service! The house stayed very warm and cozy despite the nasty wet and snowy weather all week. We would have loved to utilize the fire pit, but it was too wet the entire time. We will definitely recommend the place to anyone who we find will be in the area in the future.

Great time at Grandpa's Cabin

  • 4 of 5

The location was wonderful for our excursions into Yellowstone Park. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space for all of us. There is just one shower, but we took turns. The kitchen was perfect for cooking and serving. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were small. You might want to bring your own. We used the grill (adequate), but poor lighting so use in daylight. Grandpa's Cabin was much more comfortable for us than hotel rooms. We would stay there again.
