If you are wishing for a home on a quiet street, (4BR/2BA 2300sq ft.) that’s spectacularly sunny and airy, windows framing lush garden views, walkable to BART, restaurants, cafes, farmers’ market and boutique stores and in stellar proximity to UC Berkeley, San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma’s wineries and the redwoods then your wish is our command!
You’ll love the easy interplay between nature and our home and feel as if you are visiting a friend. Since we are relational folks, we created a sweet space for friend to gather, and art abounds.
Our open-concept living room resplendent with a gas fireplace, wood beamed, high ceilings overlooks the art- filled dining area. A solid wood table accommodating ten diners sidles french doors spilling onto the back garden that overflows with roses, wisteria, hummingbirds and various nooks among our fruit trees. You will appreciate our hot tub, gas bbq and trampoline. Drinking coffee or sipping a California libation on the deck will become your new habit.
Since we have every amenity, appliance and tool in our kitchen, it’s simple to create scrumptious meals. Of course we have a dishwasher, coffeemaker, blender/food processor, all the dishes, utensils, large fridge, stove/oven, and microwave for your use. The laundry facilities are a few steps down from the kitchen for your convenience.
The family room has an enormous sectional, a 49” TV (with Roku), games, books and a sweet alcove/sitting nook overlooking the garden. If needed, a really nice queen-size air mattress is also available. If you must work, we have a lovely spot for you here as well.
On this level, there is a room with a very comfortable pull-out couch and an adjacent bathroom with a shower/toilet.
A few steps up from this level is another serene bedroom with a queen size bed and closet space. Yet another bedroom with a queen size bed is located on this floor as well. The second bathroom with a full-size tub/shower is on this level as well.
A few steps up from here is the Master bedroom with a queen-size bed and access to another deck where you can relax while having a bird’s eye view of the whole garden.
We love our neighborhood where parking is ample and free. It’s close to El Cerrito plaza where a host of retail and grocery shops await and the farmer’s market is open 9-1 Tuesdays/Saturdays.Solano Avenue is where you can sample cashew ice cream at Uncle Dewie’s, eat from the Pacific Northwest Cuisine at Eugene’s and visit galleries, one of a kind stores and a plethora of cafes and ethnic cuisines.
We are fortunate to be near many parks: Our dog park by the high school (5 min. walk); Tilden Park for hiking and equestrian trails and swimming at lake Anza; beautiful Blake Gardens and UC Berkeley’s botanical gardens. Albany Park is only a few blocks away, and further up the hill is Indian Rock Park, where everyone likes to go for a good sunset view. The San Francisco Bay Trail, a great place for a bike or a run, follows the shoreline for miles.
So many other Bay Area adventures await: San Francisco (35 min.), UC and downtown Berkeley (10 min.), Muir Woods (50 min) or at the wineries of Napa and Sonoma (50 min.). Other attractions and destinations include: Freight & Salvage Music Hall and the Berkeley Rep Theater in downtown Berkeley; Zellerbach Performance and UC Berkeley‘s Greek Theater; Alcatraz, Sausalito, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Oakland (uptown sculpture garden), Richmond (Rosie the Riveter), Berkeley Rose Garden, Healdsburg, Russian River, and breath-taking Route 1 on the Coast.
