About Brad and Shannon Reeder

We have been married since 2002, have a Cairn Terrier (Like "Toto") and we love to travel. We owned a comedy club/restaurants in Raleigh for 8 1/2 years, which we sold in late 2013. This allowed Shannon to pursue yoga full-time (instructor) and for Brad (a professional comedian of nearly 30 years) to once again go back on the road (less frequently than the first 20 years, but look for me in Vegas or maybe even your town). We love food and travel experiences and now live part-time (4-6 months a year) in Belize. We have HomeAwayB properties for rent in Raleigh, NC, Oceanfront in Carolina Beach, NC and on "La Isla Bonita" Ambergris Caye, Belize. We have traveled to Curacao, Belize, Vienna, Prague, Munich, Budapest, Canada, Mexico, Italy and all across America, including Hawaii and Alaska.

Why Brad and Shannon Reeder chose Downtown

Location, Location, Location (and a charming historic home in Raleigh's first Historic District). In the heart of downtown, yet worlds away from the hustle and bustle of the city (and still within a 5 minute walk to that hustle & bustle, and the more than 80 restaurants (including one of the original 1940's - 50's era Krispy Kreme Doughnuts only 2 blocks away), bars, coffee shops and cafes the city has to offer. Plus, museums, live theater, ballet, the NC symphony, the Governor's Mansion, the State Capital, downtown Farmer's Market and Mordecai Historic Park are all within a 5 - 10 minute walk from the house. Not to mention, you can stroll through the neighborhood and fee like you go back in time as you enjoy the greenery and historic homes featuring many architectural styles from the turn of the century (late 1800's and early 1900's homes) that include: Bungalows, Italianate, Second Empires, Victorians and more.

Historic Oakwood:

Oakwood is a nineteenth century neighborhood and historic district located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. The neighborhood includes hundreds of homes in a variety of architectural styles. Many have been painstakingly restored and preserved to maintain their original stature and beauty. Additionally, many residents are avid gardeners and have created and maintained wonderful gardens. Sidewalks and trees line the quiet streets, making it an ideal place for a visit. Oakwood provides two opportunities to tour homes and gardens not generally available to the public. The Candlelight Tour™ occurs each December and allows access to the interior of a number of selected homes. Also, the Garden Tour is presented once a year to display some of the neighborhood's best gardens.
